I saw Gio and Anton on Sunday in Salford. I'd go again if I could.

I thought the show was brilliant. Very funny, great dancing and amazing musical numbers. All of the company could sing and dance with everyone having their moment. Loads of costume changes and it was a 2 hour show.

Lauren Oakley was a major part of it too. She is amazing. I couldn't take my eyes off her.

Given Anton is probably 20+ years older than the rest of the company he must be really fit.


My biggest gripe? The theatre had a stupid amount of toilets for a show were the audience was 95% female. :ROFLMAO:
 
Now the Sun has confirmed Corrie's Ellie Leach. This late in the game, she's probably in.

At 5'1 and being Northern, I'm 99% sure she's getting Gorka.
 
Nikita is equally uninspired of a choice for her really - give him someone over 30 unless the contestant is a ringer (which Ellie isn't from checking Google - no stage school background or obvious dance experience). I feel we're risking putting him in AJ Pritchard territory if he keeps getting women in their 20s with "average" dance ability.

Though she'd be an uninspired pairing for Gorka after Katie & Maisie in recent years, I can't see them not putting him with a Northern celeb when he'll have a newborn. The baby doesn't seem to be here yet and we're only 2 weeks from when the pros would start rehearsing.

I guess it depends on which other female celebs sign up. If she got Gorka that would be his 4th soap star in 7 years which I can’t see happening. Obviously she’s similar to Tilly & Ellie age wise but at least it’s a different type of celeb. Doubt it would be Kai, Graziano, Johannes or Carlos due to height so that only leaves limited options 🤣

I saw Gio and Anton's show a few months before the 2022 series of Strictly started, and Lauren really stood out for me, so I was delighted when it was then announced that she was joining Strictly and I'd really love to see her get a partner this year.

I don't know much about her but I do at least recognise her from when I used to watch Corrie ages ago.
She's only 22 (was on Corrie since she was 9!) and has just come out of a 5-year relationship! So expect a big 'finding herself/becoming a woman' narrative...
