I do think Dianne is probably being realistic - turning 35 this year, wanting children, other ambitions and having already had a lengthy 7 year run on Strictly. Not winning by this point probably means she's missed the boat to win and so staying on Strictly another 5+ years makes less sense than pursuing other things whilst she can. Better that than Karen who took the "sticking with Strictly longer than I want to" approach.

Wow, Dianne's genuinely a bleeping idiot if she really thinks there's any chance acting will work out for her. Does she not see what happened to AJ and Aljaz?

I know Luba said something a while back about taking acting classes, I hope she doesn't pull the same brainless manoeuvre (though at least if she did you could understand her leaving since she's far from guaranteed a partner.)

It's so funny how Gleb and Graziano, who I imagine probably can't act any better than any of the others, have managed to get a bit part as dancers in a crappy Hallmark Christmas movie, without being stupid enough to quit their main jobs. 😂

To be fair to Luba, she seemed to be taking her acting classes really seriously and she openly said she wasn't expecting to get acting jobs out of it but was just doing it to try something new.

That seems a much healthier attitude than expecting roles to fall into your lap (and expecting to pull off those roles with very little ability and training) when you decide you've had enough of dancing.

You don't just become an actor - proven time and time again by stunt casting.... How's Trish btw?

If any of them have a half decent singing voice they could try going down the Clifton musical theatre route. I don't think either Kevin or Joanne are setting the west end alight, but they've clearly got steady work out if it since leaving, so fair play.

But yeah, I can't see any pros being successful at screen acting beyond the odd bit of stunt casting

I think she would need to go back to her original hair colour to be cast in anything. Otherwise it will just be her playing herself. If she’s really serious then leaving strictly would be another good idea.

I just don't think she has the ability for acting. She's never been very good at performing a character or showing emotion in her dancing. Supposedly she's had lessons this year but she spent her dances with Bobby gurning or looking pained and it was completely unclear what she was trying to portray during the couples choice. When she tries to act in VTs or skits, it's like a little girl playing pretend.

I agree. I think all the dancers need a certain degree of acting skills to be able to perform a dance. I think Dianne is definitely one of the weakest. She isn’t very good at conveying emotion other than looking like she is in pain or the super annoying screaming/grinning/running that she seems to incorporate into lots of her dances.

She doesn’t strike me as someone with a strong sense of self. She seems to have taken on the role of influencer girlfriend. I know when you spend lots of time with someone you often do end up taking on some of their mannerisms and sayings but I even felt she was doing that with Bobby a bit. Like when in the final week they were visited by the drag queen - Bobby cheered and said ‘What a treat’ and Dianne repeated the exact same words which I thought didn’t seem natural. I work with young people so spend loads of time with people his age but as someone (much 👵🏻) older than them I don’t find myself repeating their phrases 🤷🏼‍♀️

I saw this shared on digital spy. Maybe Dianne could take some tips from Layton in how to convey emotion. There is a BTS video where the director talks about the video being a response to societal labelling and racial profiling. 3 years later and look at the public response Layton got, most of which I think was down to societal labelling and racial profiling 😣

I saw on Lauren’s Instagram that she’s going to do singing lessons, she’s already done some but wants to do it again. If she can sing I think she could pull off a west end show. I think she has something special about her, I can imagine her being a good actress.

I agree, Lauren definitely has a bit more to her and showed good promise in her singing video with Krishnan. I imagine her broadcasting degree has given her some basic delivery and voice skills which would aid her in acting.

I agree. I skimmed through their couples choice. I just couldn't get it at all. I skipped over it altogether in the final.

Mostly what I remember is Dianne being on Bobby's shoulder and me thinking oh no please, get down...

I can’t imagine any of the professionals becoming successful actors - must be difficult to find another career away from dancing. I reckon once Gorka leaves Strictly he will go down the fitness route and perhaps do something similar to what Chris Hemsworth has done with his Centr thingy.
Gio is priming himself for a TV career - we'll see how that goes once he leaves Strictly. I'm not sure the double-act with Anton has legs.
Gorka will definitely go down the fitness/personal training route. Maybe more reality series with Gemma.
Lauren I could see in broadcasting generally as she has a lot of personality.
Graz is already producing shows so trying to diversify.
I could also see Amy being a regular on things like Morning Live - she comes over well and I enjoyed her doing those quiz segments for Strictly VTs.

The others: no idea! I think Vito will definitely move back to Italy: hopefully life on the farm, rather than competing against Pasquale on Ballando at 40.

I think judging by the way most of the ex-pro dancers scrabble to find other TV work after they leave the show, that’s not Strictly adjacent, it does kinda show they haven’t got the necessary ‘it’ away from the dance floor - and the powers that be really, really tried to make Anton and Brendan (Love Island, Celebrity sheep rounding up) in particular happen. In the early days, the pros just used to put their prices of their dance lessons up and watch their diaries fill up, now they are following each other round the regional theatre trail. It will be interesting to see how Gio does when he hasn’t got the Strictly safety net to fall back into, however, grudgingly.

(I suppose when you have been on Strictly for a few years, and have got used to the fans who want to sniff you and all the publicity and attention that comes with Strictly, it blurs the lines and it’s easy to forget that when it comes down to it you are just a replaceable recurring cast member and without Strictly you are just basically a panto or summer season variety act).

Though Giofanny does have his Beryl army and a largely bought social media following, he isn't exactly a household name outside of Strictly and he's kind of forgettable now after being out in the first few weeks of two series.

His shows with Anton are neither here nor there and I really think he will dwindle eventually when he does leave, just as most of the pros do.

I guess if he comes back and wins or has a popular partnership he can exit on a high. But I just don't think he has the personality to win over a mass audience like Anton. He doesn't get a huge amount of social media engagement either - I'd be curious to know how GP Vita did. Apparently it is supposed to make it into stores at some point - we'll see.
