You were talking about facebook, and Dianne's posts there are what a lot of the discussion the last several pages has been about?

Anyway, I wasn't looking for comments to get angry about on twitter, I clicked on Layton's post thanking fans for support getting to the semi-final and that idiot was one of the first comments. As I said, I almost never engage with such comments but the last week or so I've done so with a few because I'm absolutely sick of not being able to go anywhere, even on any of the other contestants posts/clips, without finding dozens of fuckwits like the one in the screenshot. Besides, at first I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that his problem really was with the professional dancer accusation and that he may not have known other contestants had professional dance experience.

Okay I said Facebook in my post, I'll try and edit it if I can. But I mean social media in general.

It's just tiring. Like the final 3 are the final 3. Just let people vote for who they want to win!! If it's not who you want to win, well, so be it!! I don't understand hating someone who we really don't know anything about. It's not like big brother etc. we don't really know them. Like I won't be ecstatic if Bobby won over Ellie but he's in the final 3 so I understand there is a chance!

I just hate when people get so caught up in the result they want that they try and force their opinion on everyone. There is no right or wrong person to vote for. It's a light hearted tv show after all, there are actual horrors going on in the world and this is a source of escapism for most people.

Just vote for who you enjoy watching dancing. I don't have a vote anyway cause I'm in Ireland but I'm still looking forward to the show (despite the megamixs 🫠 and a certain someone's CC).

It’s my right to complain as I pay my tv licence. Complain to the BBC then prick.

Also seeing how hot Layton and Nikita are together I’d be happy with a whole cast of same sex dancers if they all have that kind of chemistry please!

Regarding whether a pro deserves to win. I think Vito getting to the final in his first 2 years suggests he is doing something right. Also didn’t Nikita get to week 10 in his first year with a 20 year old who hadn’t danced before and wasn’t a performer and then have to choreograph dancing with a someone with a huge height difference in his 2nd year? This year he has more than earned his place in the final with his innovative choreography always pushing the boundaries and not backing down due to the considerable hostility that is out there. I hope he gets a bloody big wage increase next year.

Dianne has had a lot of potential contenders but this is only her 2nd final. She’s hardly like Oti is she?
 
I don't really use social media and I've never bothered to leave comments on any contestant or pro's twitter/insta etc post before, or even like posts very often, no matter how much I've loved the dance. I always feel like I don't really have anything profound to say and that they wouldn't really care about generic 'wow, that was great, I love it!' or 'you're my winner' comment number 3347, but this week is the first time I have. The amount of negativity Layton's had to put up with week in week out is absolutely ridiculous and it's the least I can do to at least leave a few of those pointless, generic 'I loved the dance' and 'you're amazing, ignore the haters' comments on their social media to help balance it out.

Me too. I’ve never commented on a celebs social media in my life until now. Just wanted to try and show that for all the hate there are plenty of people who think they’re amazing.

BIB - Yeah, that's what I was doing particularly on FB. I can't be arsed posting on SM, I only post here, but I did feel compelled to try, as you say, balance it all out a bit.
 
I think someone has had a word with Dianne as the post talking about how she and Bobby are the underdogs has disappeared and she is now saying they are all worthy. The group is now full of threads praising Bobby as I think lots are excited to interact with Dianne so I guess it’s done the job. I wouldn’t mind Bobby winning based on his dances and popularity if that’s what people want to vote for but I don’t like the manipulation that has happened in the groups.

Well I'm glad someone has seemingly had a word with her. It's still shameful that she lacks the awareness to begin with. I honestly cannot comprehend the desperation to behave that way. She's 34 years old... She shouldn't need a word ya know!

I really hope she's gone next year.
 
The whole ideas of the pros being a happy family I think is partly true...if you fall into the pre pandemic clique. They were very biased towards Gorka last year and it seemed kinda frosty towards the 3 new pros. The newer pros seem to stick with each other for the most part.

That whole wave of pros who came in 2013-17 were like that. They seemed to alienate the remaining OGs when they first arrived.
