I would love to know what the other pros think of Dianne's behaviour.
Some of the others - possibly Nancy - alluded to her being the only female pro in the semi finals in a 'yay Dianne' type of comment on ITT. Hope she doesn't need lifting anytime soon though, lol.

The time to 'big up' your celebrity is onscreen, saying they are wonderful, and you're so proud of them. The usual stuff.
Not on social media beating a drum about the fact that Bobby can't dance has no dance experience. He has genuinely done well to get this far.

I think he would have been eliminated (and would have been quite happy about it) had things happened differently for Nigel and Katya. Imagine the reaction from Dianne though 😁. Ah well.
It probably was Nancy, she’s a cheerleader for everyone!

Realistically I know Layton has no chance of winning, but I think getting to the Final without a dance-off may have made it a bit closer than it otherwise would have been. Not that it matters because they don't announce 2nd and 3rd place for whatever weird reason, but I do think he has a chance of getting more votes than Bobby now. There've been a few times I've not voted or voted for my second or third favourite because it was obvious my favourite couldn't win after being in the bottom two in the QF and/or SF, and I doubt I'm alone in that. It won't be enough to take the Glitterball off Ellie, but I think going straight through with fewer bottom two appearances than Bobby will probably inspire a handful more votes from people who would otherwise not have bothered because it was so obviously a waste of time.

Still bitter they didn't let them have their moment to celebrate this week. Ellie and Vito get the shiny plastic trophy next week, and Vito will probably combust. Good for them but we didn't need a preview this week. 😔

The thing is she attracts her own kind.

Her loyal fans copy the way she speaks .

She gloats, they gloat .

Dianne jumps in comments preaching 'Hes not a trained dancer and I'll say what I like ' then her fans start coping her saying the exact same thing relentlessly to those who like either Nigel or Layton, its been so petty and very draining to be on the receiving end of it all series its like she gives them permission to be rude to others because she's out there in the comments doing it along with them .
Juliet’s group is full of people who are constantly frothing at the mouth about ‘Laytons experience’ and even posts that are completely unrelated to him end up with the usual suspects digging at him. When I joined the negativity towards him was apparent straight away. The complaints invariably seem to be about his dancing but the fact that they are so persistently negative about him yet had no issue with Nigel who is even more experienced than him suggests their issue with him is something else. I think Dianne joining there to post when she is a paid professional is wrong anyway but the fact that the first thing she did was point out that he has no previous experience suggests that she was aiming at pulling votes from the Layton haters. I don’t think she wants to increase hatred towards him but I do think she will exploit the bad feeling in her desperation to win.

What if all the celebs did the same dance. So everyone do a Charleston one week, salsa the next and so on. That way it would be a fair comparison.
And a bit boring 😁. Yay it’s the 14th foxtrot.

The early series split the celebs - first week half did the waltz and half the cha cha, second week the waltzers did the rhumba and the cha cha-ers the quickstep … then it went jive/tango, paso/foxtrot then everybody samba and then onto doing the ‘missed’ dances. Of course the series were shorter and the number of contestants fewer.

i don’t think you are ever going to get fair comparisons really … because When it comes down to it really you can’t compare Angela R having a nice sit down on a bench with Kai in a disturbing moustache with Layton cos playing Donald O’Connor.

I just want to know why Gio seems to dislike Vito so much - he always looks fuming when Vito is talking. I don’t remember him being like that last series.
Something defo happened last year - they never stand together in the Clauditorium. I presume it's something Gio did - Vito seems popular with the others (bar the odd glazed expression/eyeroll when he goes into mozzarella overdrive).

Much as I enjoyed Ellie's reaction to being safe, I would also have liked to see Layton get to celebrate going through, but the show clearly wanted the drama of him potentially being in the DO. Yet another effect of Nigel not being there - I also think Layton would get less heat if Nigel was still in as Nigel would be seen as a legit contender for the title...

I love Layton and Nikita, but I genuinely hope they don't win because I feel like all the hatred he's currently experiencing on social media will ramp up massively and it'll overshadow what should be a joyous moment - people will start calling it a fix, and their anger at a "professional" winning will make their posts go from the current thinly-veiled homophobia and racism to being more overt as they spout their vile hatred, plus I'm sure the media will tear him apart too.

I'm thrilled they got to the final and I can't wait to see their dances next weekend, but I really hope they don't win so they can just have fun in the final and then slope off under the radar while the winner gets all the attention.

I think watching a whole episode of one dance wouldn’t work as people might only watch episodes when a dance they like is on. A whole episode of waltz’s would be pretty dull.

Get rid of couples choice and alternate so that if a celeb does Latin one week the next week they do ballroom and vice versa.
I’m all for getting rid of CC. It takes away from the show dance in the final. I agree that alternating would be good, in fact did they used to do this back in the day or am I misremembering?

Will we find out what dances they are doing this week or will it be kept a secret for the final?

When the judges were talking about their high points of the series - the sheer ridiculousness of Eddie getting a 10 - why on earth would that be a high point!

He knew it, Karen knew it and Shirley definitely knew it was undeserved. Shirley just seemed to be trying to regain popularity after being very snarky to him the previous week.

Nigel, of course, we only glimpsed briefly in the context of Craig describing him as being like Patrick Swayze. Oh well. At least we got that glimpse.

As regards changes, I think the judges all have a very easy job there, and very well paid. I can't see any of them leaving voluntarily. I do wish though that they would try harder on the fairness scale when it comes to feedback and scoring.

And Anton needs to speak in full sentences. Not 'woo and wah and ooh I thought 'ello' and so on. When he is calm, and makes an effort he can be quite good. I know too that he thinks it's funny to run down some of his former partners but that doesn't put him in a great light, imo.

Sadly I think whatever happens he is going to get abuse. There will be so much gloating when he doesn’t win and it will be seen as vindication that the public don’t like him. Whilst I’ve noticed that there are more people standing up for him and saying they will vote because of the abuse I’ve also noticed more outright abuse. It’s disgusting that people think this behaviour is acceptable. It’s like we’ve all gone back in time and he is expected to shut up and hide away. I love the fact that he is still unapologetically himself.

It followed pretty much the same format for first 10 or so series with a few tweaks for added dances … it was only about series 10 and 11 where thing started to change and then by series 12 we were getting the Charleston in week 2 and everything went out the window.

As much as anything, the structure is actually better for the celebs rather than dotting about and not doing a ballroom for 3 or 4 weeks after the first one.

What a classy response. Dianne, take note!

Layton has been nothing but classy in his responses to the vitriol on social media. I wish he wouldn’t read it. On the positive, ultimately he wins. He gets the career boost this will inevitably be. He gets the decent pay check & nice life. He gets a new friend who seems to love him. And multiple new friends from across the show. Hes living his best life. Those throwing hate are really not.

You know, I really have no idea why I didn't expect it to happen this week, I guess because I think this week Layton has probably done his most traditional dances without 'tricks' and yet I have a quick glance at the instagram comments (on everyone's clips, not just his) and on DS and find it's still a deranged litany of 'there was no Rumba in his Rumba!' and 'there was no Charleston in his Charleston!' 'two more showdances!' 'all just gymnastics!' 'I prefer the contestants who actually danced the dance they were supposed to dance' etc.

What the duck is actually the matter with these people?!

You know I think I have slightly more respect for the ones who actually own up to it and say 'yeah, he's too flamboyant and I don't like it' than the ones who are all like *gasp* *pearlclutch* 'I am the least prejudiced person in the world, just ask my gay friend Trevor from work, how very dare anyone suggest my dislike could have anything to do with his sexuality blah blah blah' and then proceed to write a 1000 word diatribe every single week and post it under every clip about how he's the only person with professional dance experience who's ever appeared on Strictly before because everyone else's doesn't actually count somehow, especially not Nigel's, no not because he's straight and white, how dare you. And it's not fair that he's there because he's been perfect from the start, but also all of his dances are tit. And he just twirls and flips around every week and gets 10s without actually doing any of the proper steps, but also he's a professional dancer who can do them better than Nikita, blah bleeping blah.

Some of these people are so bleeping stupid I don't know how they're still alive. I saw a comment with dozens of likes about how it's exactly the same as if they brought an ex-Strictly pro back and had them dance as a celeb, and another one saying they may as well just hire Layton as a new pro. Ffs, even Robbie and Jake aren't considered qualified enough to be Strictly pros, and there's no question they have far more training and experience than Layton.

I can't tell how many of these people are actually so stupid and/or crazy they actually believe the nonsense they're spewing, and how many are just cowardly little trolls who know perfectly well they're making up total bullshit so they can air their bigotry without getting called out on it.

He still has people frothing at the mouth for this post. ‘So called strictly fans - how dare he!’
Maybe you should be a little more 'honest' about your dance experience. And the fact you made a couple of mistakes when you were in the dance off against Angela Scanlon & stop emotionally manipulating the viewers, its a dance competition not emotional rehab !

You can’t reason with stupid sadly. I wish he wouldn’t read it but people will tag him so he can’t really avoid it.

A lot of them are just gobshites who either make stuff up or willingly believe what the other gobshites are saying.

I saw one guy say that Layton has "trained in ballroom dancing" on his bio. Then when people said they couldn't find any info about Layton's ballroom training on any bio, he comes back with "well, I definitely saw it but it's clearly been removed now".
