It was interesting that she was presenting a lot with Neil on the pro tour this time and was very much front and lead in a lot of dances . Neil was struggling to keep up with the other boys, dancewise, but he’s a confident presenter. Karen was excellent though,

She’s a great dancer, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s a great teacher. Of course we can’t know for sure because we have hardly seen her, but maybe the producers don’t feel like she’s the right fit to teach a celeb? Especially when all the other female pros are so established now, can’t see any of the current lot being benched for her.
Nigel Harman? Dirty Den's son on Eastenders, married his adopted sister Sharon, was stabbed to death on New Year's Eve (I don't know why I can remember Eastenders storylines from about 20 years ago, that was probably the last time I watched it) He was also a baddie on Downton Abbey. He looks like a villain, but I'm sure he's very nice in real life
Might be like Danny Mack, maybe a bit too much? But then he was so good and was completely robbed.
I would love to see him with Katya, of all the pros I would say she’s had it roughest in terms of partners. Ed, Seann, Mike, Nicola & Tony all had zero dance talent. Doubt they would win as ringers never do, but I just want to see what she can do choreo wise with someone who can actually dance. Joe was good, but still not ringer level.
I find Nadiya and Amy ( who obviously won’t take part this year) choreo very dull compared to Katya, Karen and Dianne. It might be because both of them were competitive dancers going straight into dwts/strictly. I think the other girls having more show and especially Burn the Floor experience makes a massive difference to their creativity. Nadiya’s only highlight last series was Musicals Week and that was because Kai basically choreographed it, after being knocked out.
To be fair to Nadiya, it’s not like she had much to work with
Matt was awful and also very visibly nervous every time he danced, so I don’t think it’s fair to judge her on that. Same with Lee & David who were both awful. Her choreo with Davood was brilliant and I also thought it was really good with Dan, considering the level he was at. She’s never had a partner that she can go all out on choreo with, that’s why I would rather see her with a ringer type than the likes of Dianne, Amy etc.
I actually loved Dianne’s work with Tyler, I know the Charleston wasn’t her’s but it was brilliant . I also thought he shouldn’t have gone out the week he did. Katya has won a glitterball, so I don’t think she’s going to get a true ringer again.To be fair to Nadiya, it’s not like she had much to work with
Dianne’s choreo does nothing for me, she made Tyler who had a lot of potential into a boring contestant who become almost forgettable by the time he left. On paper if any of the female pros are due a really good partner it’s Katya & Nadiya, but there’s a lot of things the producers take into account like height etc that doesn’t always make that possible.
Maybe not, but I still think she deserves it based on the run she’s been on since 2018 lol. She won 6 years ago and since then she’s drawn the short end of the stick almost every time, I actually feel sorry for her. I think she’s always given the tit dancers because they know she’s the best pro at getting the most out of them, but that doesn’t mean she should get them every year the poor girl
It’s impossible to predict tbh, on paper there are pros that should really be getting contenders this year, and there’s also the obvious ones who should be getting duffers (gio, nancy, maybe dianne & graziano too).
I agree. There are 3 current pros who have won - Jowita, Gio & Katya. Jowita should probably have a duffer this year, but Gio wasn’t given one after his win and she could do an Oti and win back to back with an unexpected contender like Bill was. Gio should be at the bottom of the list of male pros imo, the likes of Nikita & Kai should really be getting better partners than him this year. Katya will probably get lumped with an elderly politician again so I don’t have high hopes

I think for the pro’s with the less able celebs it’s a balancing act. They want a routine that shows what the celeb can do, but not one that is so complex they forget what they are doing half way through. Alesha was good enough to wing it and follow Matt when they both blanked, Matt Di Angelo got away with going off for a nice sit down but someone like Matt Goss isn’t going to get away with standing looking thunderstruck for half a dance while Nadiya tries to steer him back into the routine. I think sometimes the simple routines are all they think the celeb can comfortably manage.To be fair to Nadiya, it’s not like she had much to work with

Imagine if Gio got a popular duffer who kept getting voted through on likability despite being tit. Someone he couldn't be shipped with.
