They could have invited Gemma aswell.

Is that not a little strange to anyone else??
To have people fly in from abroad it must have been planned out for a while so time wouldn't really be a good reason to leave so many out.

Probably a bit too hard for Amy as she is going through egg retrieval at the moment. It was in London so wouldn’t have thought Gemma would want to travel. No sign of Oti socialising with the pro’s much since she left

I totally agree, she’s an amazing choreographer and works well with any pro she’s partnered with ( there are a beautiful couple of dances she did with Arduino last year on her Instagram as an example). I really hope she gets a partner this time.
 
I do find it weird that they gave Nancy two really good partners whilst Luba got James Cracknell and an unknown in Jason. Nancy has a bit more personality on camera maybe but it's not exactly a ringing endorsement that I can remember virtually none of her routines despite getting top partners. I'd like to think they'll test her with a duffer this time.

I think it's down to height in most cases if it's too big of a difference some of the dances could never work hence why both luba and nadiya being on the taller side haven't had a fair chance like all of the others have.

There have been tall guys like Rhys & Tyler who they could have danced with but didn't. Even Adam Peaty, not a contender to win but younger and a better dancer than someone like Cracknell. Pretty sure that Tyler is taller than Matt, so I wonder why Nadiya didn't dance with him, when she was due someone good.

Luba & Nadiya don't even get good partners at Christmas either. Has Luba ever danced with a guy under 40 in all of her specials and series? Nadiya's youngest was 35, so she hasn't really had a youngster either. Perhaps that will change if Bobby Brazier is in this year.

But Nadiya has had a partner in 5 of her 6 series, getting QF twice ( Dan/Davood), she’s had some decent chances, it’s definitely Luba’s time to get someone good. Matt had great potential on paper too - he should have had some kind of rhythm!

I’d say Angela is in. Think she’ll be like Helen/Anita Rani, should have a decent run.

Might be wiser for SCD to leak the more standard names, leaving the real interesting ones as a surprise.

Apparently Angela has Irish dancing experience, so hopefully should have good run

Angela is 5’6” which puts her in Vito/Nikita/Gio partnership height I think.
 
In 2001, Scanlon was a dancer with the O'Shea Irish Dance Company and appeared in the Irish Thunder show at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia, USA.

The BIB is from Angela's Wikipedia page. If she was in a show then she was probably dancing for a long time. I used to dance and most people who go on to do those shows have been dancing from quite a young age, at least 5 but I wouldn't be surprised if she started younger than that, my sister started when she was 3 and I think I was around the same age when I started.
 
Angela Scanlon semi-announced. Key facts: Irish, TV presenter, married with kids (so no curse..?), not super-tall (1.68m) so could work for most. Former Irish dancer so let the ringer debate commence! Seems like a Helen type - her USP is 'down-to-earth'

I say Nikita for her! Ringer and a little older than his past celebs (though not too much of an age difference for him). And they go together height-wise.
 
Re: Gemma not attending Janette’s baby shower- she’s literally about to have her second child, lives far away and it’s just not worth risking it, particularly as she had a hard birth with Mia. Plus second babies can come V fast (I speak from experience!).

With Karen, maybe she was just like ‘I love you Janette and I’ll visit and send a lovely gift when bubs is here, but the thought of attending a Winnie the Pooh themed baby shower with Ashley Roberts makes me want to die’ 😆
