Surprised Katya was one of the organisers, they never seemed that close. Janette and Karen don't seem to be that close now too.

Janette & Katya have always been close, I feel like they just don’t have to display it all over instagram. Was surprised to not see Karen though, especially after Janette was her bridesmaid last year but maybe she was just busy.

Speaking of Janette and it feeling like she's been pregnant forever, she was saying in (where else?) Hello magazine that the baby is due this month, and Aljaz will be looking after them when she's working, so it looks like she will be delighting us on ITT as usual 😁

Some people mentioning on DS about who may or may not be benched this year.

Obviously depends on the celebs but I feel like there may be a chance for Lauren and/or Luba to get partners if there are enough celebs, particularly since Amy will probably sit out.

Usually it's 8 male pros/7 female pros with partners. However, if they need 8 female pros like in 2019, then one of last year's male pros has to be benched (Neil is already a given, ditto for Michelle on the female side). I'd love if it was Gio but it won't be. My gut feeling is that it would be Graziano or Carlos. I like Carlos but the partnership with Molly last year was a dud, they were very lucky to scrape into the final. Graziano has done his best but he feels a tad expendable compared to the other guys. Hopefully I'm wrong and both get partners.

Yeah, I agree. Michelle and Neil look the most likely (and Amy if she's still in recovery). If there are 2 male pros benched, I think that last spot it will be between Carlos and Vito, only because they are newbies. And Vito probably has the edge as he has more experience, and it's Strictly so they are just probably less likely to bench the sexy Italian (see them choosing to bench Johannes over Graziano in 2018)

Not that I want either benched, mind! I've warmed to them much more than Kai or Graziano

Possibly Gorka might be benched so he can spend time at home, like he did when Mia was newborn? I think Graz finally reached a better level last year so he’ll get a chance. They won’t leave Hotty Vito out , he was the star of the pro tour. They are down one male pro anyway because of Cameron leaving.

Gorka won't be benched - he didn't choose it last time (and seemed pissed about it) and I doubt he'd choose it this time. Plus he's pretty much a veteran pro now, with 2 extra finals since his benching, so likely a higher priority for the show.

He’ll probably get a North West based celebrity so he’s not far from home during the week

It's surprising how few pros seem to have attended with how close they all must be.
No sign of oti, amy, Karen, jowita, dianne,Nancy or Michelle but there was sara, Ashley etc.
They could have invited Gemma aswell.

Is that not a little strange to anyone else??
To have people fly in from abroad it must have been planned out for a while so time wouldn't really be a good reason to leave so many out.

Michele is currently performing on a cruise ship. Jowita was judging a competition abroad. Dianne has just moved house. Not sure about Nancy and Karen.

Karen up in Cheshire these days ( or somewhere in that area), seems odd as she had Janette as a bridesmaid last year. Would also have expected Emma Weymouth , but she’s a busy woman

This is what I don't understand though - why they're not invested in her. She's stunning and a great dancer, just had two rubbish partners (compare with Nancy who has been gifted two very good dancers). She might well crash and burn with a good dancer, who knows, but she hasn't been given a chance yet
