Spitting facts there. Well saidYawn, rose again. Most mundane individual to walk this planet yet gets every opportunity because of a love rat showmance. Boring.

I'd take Rose over any other post-Jay winner.
Yep.Och that is harsh! Rose is great: it's not her fault she got lots of deranged fans. I am glad she's extracting herself from the Fanny Rat Who Shall Not Be Named. It seems fairer to say that he needs her for legitimacy now.
Seems a good time to highlight that Danny Mac was indeed robbed
We were in Covid times and Bill is very popular and not someone anyone would have imagined doing the show. The fact that Oti won with mediocre Bill (whose highlight was a weird street dance) but lost with a contestant as amazing as Danny (who did tons of very memorable routines) will never cease to confuse me.

Weird to think that split second of Jamie Biscuits hurting his knee might have been a bit of a sliding doors moment for Oti - if he'd been in that series him and Oti probably wouldn't have won, so then she wouldn't have got 'duffer' Bill Bailey the next year (and won again), wouldn't have had her profile raised by being the first consecutive winner, then might not have landed big money ITV deals and left
Or...she might just won anyway regardless
(I definitely don't think she would have won with Jamie though)
Kind of sums up the way Strictly is going these daysThe fact that Oti won with mediocre Bill (whose highlight was a weird street dance) but lost with a contestant as amazing as Danny (who did tons of very memorable routines) will never cease to confuse me.
I don't mind her and quite admire what shes accomplished, but in general I just find her a bit blah. And really the big turn off for me was how she's been forced down our necks at every opportunity. And even more than that, that she's this helpless sweet little girl who needed a guy to make her life better. It may be harsh, I don’t expect others to agree but she just has never been standout for me whatsoever I’m afraid

This is my exact thoughts! Better articulated than I could but I echo your points greatlyKind of sums up the way Strictly is going these days

I am glad for her that she is creating distance from FR but I don't think she was innocent in allowing the showmance story to gain popularity

I didn't place the bet but I called it too In fact when they announced she was doing it in the summer, I told my friend she would be paired with Gio and they'd be picked as the story for the year. He gets his win, the Beeb get their inclusivity story! Even Shirley giving the low score week 1 had me rolling my eyes with scepticism. You've got to show growth! The utter predictability of her win made it hard for me to warm to her (and I did find her a bit irritating). There was no jeopardy. She was an absolute shoo-in and why I put 20 quid on her after the launch show (I'm not a gambling person). I found it all became a bit too "St Rose" with her fans and anything that fell short of complete praise was almost blasphemous.
