Strictly isnt Strictly now Nigel had to withdraw he and Katya were the show for me. Going to miss them and gutted for them they haven't had closure like the normal eliminated couple do. No more training together I do hope we get one more ITT interview from them. Not only was he a great dancer he is a lovely man inside and out.

After seeing the show yesterday I know Nigel would have 2nd or 3rd on the leaderboard and would have got through to the semi final.

Based on the dances last night Layton and Nikita were the standout for me and totally deserved the first 40. Now Nigel has gone I will be supporting them two now.

I’ve switched to Layton and Nikita too (call me fickle😳) .. I was all for Ellie and Vito, she seems sweet and is having a good competition but she has allowed Vito to overwhelm her. I can foresaw the practically inevitable conclusion to the series when Tess calls .. “and the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 are Vito and, umm yes, Ellie”.
Alternative title for the show: “Strictly Come Dancing 2023: the Italianisation of Ellie”.🤫

Same here. I just about watched, late last night.

I had been really looking forward to seeing Nigel and Katya, they were in such brilliant form on ITT on Friday night too. I half hoped it was just a silly sensational storyline when I saw that they had withdrawn.

Layton and Nikita getting 40 brightened up the show. At least that was something.
 
I feel quite bad for Bobby. He knew it was tit last night. I think considering he is the only one left who hasn’t had any professional dance training he has done well. I wonder how much better he would have done paired with another pro and if the judges gave him constructive criticism instead of over marking him and making him think he is better than he is. Can you imagine what Katya could have done with him?

Although then we wouldn’t have got the best unintentionally funny performance of the series. With his hair straightened he looked the absolute spit of his mum. I swear at one point I saw what was probably her sex face 🤢

I think more people will vote for Layton now, and I’ve seen more people defending him on social media, but all the people who seem so determined to hate him will throw their votes at anyone but him to ensure that doesn’t happen.

my feelings towards bobby have honestly softened as the weeks have gone on tbh. i’ll never be a fan but he is trying hard and i think has been put with a pro who just isn’t a good personality match for him. if he really was supposed to get amy like people are saying then i think it would have been a different experience for him.

his couples choice will always leave a bad taste in my mouth on his behalf too.

i can’t see beyond an ellie win, i think she has it in the bag. if anyone is going to overtake her then, shock of shocks, i think it might be annabel. layton has too much negativity to overcome imo.

i’m with most of you here too. i like ellie, i won’t dislike her win, but she’s just “fine” to me. will go on the list of winners where i will never rewatch one of their dances 🤣
 
Layton won’t win. Firstly because he’s obviously a ringer and secondly because of the blatant homophobia I’ve seen across social media by people, mostly of the boomer generation it has to be said, who clearly aren’t comfortable with two men dancing together. A lot of these people are usually supportive of the ringer contestants so it’s not hard to work out why they have such a problem with them.

i agree with you. he obviously had a LOT of public support (especially with how often he dodged the dance off on shaky weeks) and seemed to be hitting his stride a bit confidence and routine wise.

a strong charleston followed by a strong AT (which i think they had next) could have done it for him. along with redoing his paso (probably) in the final and a katya showdance.

argh making myself all emotional again now 😭🤣
