…… oh i am NOT sure about this 🤦🏼‍♀️

the “my mother, probably” was so casual too, for a dance that is going to require complete sincerity if they’re going to pull it off.

make that two 🫨
Maybe he was just self-conscious about mentioning his mum? I guess the VT will make clear if it's 'about' Jade or Dianne is just a generic woman figure. God it makes me feel a bit depressed.

No he said she was playing the role of a woman who you could think of as a mother role.

Beautiful song that actually suits a contemporary. 🧡

No he didn’t. Thank god, I’m not going barmy after all. From the essence of Booby’s own gob.

if it’s just a generic maternal figure then i think that’s going to be heartbreaking in all honesty (in terms of a young bobby sort of dreaming of having a “mother”, even if that mother isn’t necessarily jade). and maybe a bit deep for a CC.

again, i really hope this is the dance he actually wants to do. i’m no fan of his, but this sounds intense af.

I'm hoping Katya goes simple and clean with the choreo, something Nigel can really execute. Rumba isn't really a wow dance either way so I just want them to concentrate on a mistake-free dance, prove those pesky judges wrong.

Jojo and John
Anton and Katie
Vincent and Rachel
Artem and Kara

Would beg to differ

I think the rumba is a difficult dance. But with the right cheorgraphy (and music) it can be stunning.

But then I've remembered 4 dances out of 20yrs of strictly so maybe you're right 🤣🤣🤣

fully agree. i wouldn’t say it’s my favourite style at all but when it’s done right, a good rumba is a showstopper imo.

i will add kelvin and oti’s - purely because it had an absolutely filthy vibe that i appreciate in a rumba - and molly and carlos, which is one of the best recent ones and very underscored.

I thought the Kartem Rumba was tedious tbh but I was completely unmoved by their "romance" to be fair so that might have coloured my judgement.

Jay and Aliona did quite a good one for musicals week to Falling Slowly from Once.

Apologies for saying something nice about Kevin but I liked his Rumba with Frankie, it was something a bit different.

Colin and Erin’s was rather lovely as well.

It missed out the 'probably' word after that sentence but no matter.

Bobby is not going to win either way with people on here regardless so let him do what he wants to do; thats my opinion anyways.
I just object to the emotional manipulation you can see from Mars.

I mean, I know Strictly can never be accused of any degree of subtlety but the cattle prodding and hammer to the head of look, look, how emotional this is … isn’t this sad … look Dianne is sad … look Bobby is holding back a manly tear … it’s so emotional … Motsi sobbed and Shirley is on 5 Kleenex … Anton can’t form words (well, okay, no change there)… look at Bobby’s family in the audience … Tess is talking to dolphins … you will cry.

And I say sturdily … no, I won’t.

...And Craig tells him it was shite and gives it a 6 then flips off the audience when they boo.

Oh, now that you mention it, I feel bad for Bobby's brother as well who was even younger than Bobby when Jade died.

I don't feel there is any need whatsoever to use such an emotive topic for Bobby's CC. Annabel I understand as her loss was so recent.

But a boy dancing to such a moving song when his mother died young from cervical cancer is not Saturday night light entertainment. He could easily have done a CC based on his fame-hungry dad.

Call me cynical but it screams sympathy vote.

bleeping hell this is going to be like Diana’s funeral all over again. I’ll be cynically rolling my eyes at the thought of it until I see the boys who lost their mum and will burst into tears 😭
