Vito's mispronunciations, etc, were funny last year, as they were authentic, and tended to only pop up in SM. It's all becoming rather stage managed now. Like producers have found something that was natural, cute and funny, and now want to flog it to death.

It's like on ITT when they had Nikita doing that Layton's lingo quiz - it was really cute how Nikita was picking up on Layton's turns of phrase and using them in his own speech, it was just organic. But then the show notices and tries to manage it and make a thing of it.

They must all have known each other from Italian competitions. Graz is bezzies with Arduino and some of those ones, but he and Gio aren't particularly friendly which is odd given they're both Sicilian. Graz and Vito seem fairly chummy.

I remember when Vito joined he posted a story not long after of him and Gio out for an evening, but since this time last year, nada, no mutual likes at all on insta, and Gio now actively looking furious when Vito gets feedback. (I noticed for Vito's birthday a few weeks ago that he and his bestie Pasquale (who dances on Gio's tour) were out for dinner and then the next night Pasquale and Gio were out together when it would have been logical for the 3 of them to party together - seems fairly evident that there is no love lost at all but I guess we'll never know why.) oh I didn't know about Pasquale being over during Vito's birthday as per this video I presumed they were friends. Pasquale was over a bit during the summer before Vito was hired I got the feeling he might have been meeting with the producers. Maybe they chose Vito instead and it caused rift?
 
I’m newish to Strictly so ignoring personalities how would you rank the remaining celebrities based on their technical dancing ability so far?

I think perhaps Nigel is now at the bottom of that list with Annabel second last ?

Oh god, yes this! The worst thing about the lingo quiz was L&N had been on Fleurs radio show the day before and were talking about the exact same thing! Then bam, same bloody thing from her on ITT! I feel like you can almost see the strain it takes Layton not to roll his eyes! 😂 Also, how often they get told ‘your relationship is so special’ - there’s only so many ways you can respond to that question before it just starts to get a bit weird! ‘Yes, we know, thanks, we do really get on, we do really like each other’ .. after that it’s like, what else do you want us to say?! I’m convinced Claudia is dying for them to confess that actually we are totally in love & off to get married 😂

Ellie
Nigel
Angela
Annabel
Bobby

Nigel has still produced better technique and more complex, accomplished dances than those lower down despite his mistakes.

Nigel is a beautiful dancer he just needs to control his nerves and emotions.
Blackpool is a big deal in terms of a line in the sand for the competition as a whole this is when it gets serious. The judges begin to nit pick at a routine they would have clapped like seals at in the early weeks, the Pros go hard into competition mode and the celebs can get caught in the middle of it all, some will thrive others become a shadow of themselves.

I'm no expert on the technicals of dance but I'd dare go out on a limb with an opinion -

Number one has to be Layton,
Second seems to be Ellie
and the rest is i think very tricky Annabel and Nigel have lovely poise and always create beautiful lines, Angela S has great legs and foot work and Bobby is apparently brilliant at everything (but i can't judge him objectively because I just see looseness) but 100% with who is first surely .

I have a horrible feeling Nigel is going to be the one most at risk at semi final time. If he can’t feel confident in a routine he’s had the ’Strictly’ week (ie not an actual week) to sort out I’m not sure how he’s going to manage with two.

Vito and Pasquale still seem to be fine. It's the trio that doesn't function...

Gio's head got turned by the BAFTA I think. Remember that story earlier this season about him ignoring other pros or whatever? Ducking out of the pro dance recordings to film his TV series with Anton, both this year and last, clearly shows what he thinks of Strictly, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's made that clear to the others. Gorka seems the only one who can really tolerate him these days.

Oh and in honour of Black(pool) Monday - I am not a huge fan of Danny Mac's samba! I think it's the brown trousers and I don't like sambas much. Much prefer his AS, Charleston, CCC or jive.
