I'm not a fan of Layton. I never am of the ones who have professional dance experience. I'm all about the J word! I know you need a mix because a whole cast of Ann Widdecombes would be dreadful tv, but I get far more enjoyment from watching Krishnan put in a fun performance than something where my husband has to ask me which one is the professional.

while we’re all getting things off our chests, i’m the complete opposite 🤣

not to say that i don’t ENJOY the journey contestants but my patience with them tends to run out around blackpool onwards and i always think that the “best” dancer should win the show. previous experience really means little to me in the grand context of things. i guess that’s why i’ve disagreed with more winners than i approve of though 🤦🏼‍♀️

Last snippet from me and then I really will shut up about going! Just caught up on the results show and they cut out lots of Kai’s exit speech which explained why he was so emotional. It was the 10 year anniversary of his Gran’s death and she would’ve been the same age as Angela. He talked about how being with Angela had bought her back to him for a while. It was really touching but I suppose didn’t fit the narrative so they chopped it!

Love your snippet's, don't stop if you suddenly remember something. :)

That is a shame that they cut that about Kai, it would have explained why he was so emotional and the appropriate connection he had with Angela. Perhaps they will revisit that on ITT tonight.

That reminds us of the sexy rumba he did for his gran to her favourite song a couple of years ago. Twas funny at the time.😁

I don't get any sense of joy from Bobby when he's dancing. I did with Krishnan - he shone with enjoyment and love of dance but Bobby just kind of bewilderedly moves from a to b with a gormless look on his face while Dianne oozes desperation from every pore.

It's a weird partnership that feels uncomfortable to watch. Does not surprise me at all that they were observed barely talking to each other when the cameras weren't rolling.

I also have a feeling the CC won't be the breakthrough people are expecting and will be Fletcher 2. I hope I'm right.

This is what I think makes Layton and Nikita such a special partnership. They don’t allow the blatant homophobia to dilute their performances. If anything they say a big duck you to the homophobes and push things as far as they can. Nikita is so much more than an ally. Their performances are as sexy as they would be with an opposite sex partnership. Nikita openly shows affection and love towards Layton without a hint of self-consciousness despite the overt hostility that is shown toward Layton and his sexuality.
As dramatic as this may sound I really do think this partnership is pretty ground breaking and I know that so many people from the LGBTQ community will be watching them and feeling as if maybe it’s ok for them to be who they are.
And this is precisely why I will vote exclusively for them now. This partnership is so special and it really matters more than kudos for one individual. Nikita deserves so much recognition for how he has embraced everything Layton brings to the table and stood shoulder to shoulder with him unflinching in the eyes of the pearl clutching Dailt Mail brigade. Take note Fanny Rat.

Same. I loved Krishnan and gave him some of my votes (often most of my votes) each week. I didn't for his CC because I felt he was safe, and also thought it was a bit bollocks 😄 Voted for him to get through to BP, but beyond that, he would be so out of his depth, that he really did only have a 8/9 week shelf life.

Annabel has exceeded expectation, but another week of her careful, polite dancing doesn't really make me buzz with excitement.

I look forward every week to seeing Layton and Nikita dance. I remember when Layton was revealed as a contestant, and he said he wanted a dance partner who could throw him around 😁. Go, Nikita!

I have loved Nikita since he joined the show. I loved what he did with Ellie last year, adapting routines and just being so all around lovely. I loved when his shirt joined the dance off with him and Tilly. 😁

And I simply adore him with Layton.

I love that everyone is getting off their chest today no matter what the opinion 😄 🙌
Today's the day for the person who hated Danny Mac to come out of the woodwork!

Not really an unpopular opinion as such, but in the interests of balance, Bobby is really kind in this clip with fans (along with Angela R, Claudia, Ellie and Vito). He seems like a nice boy who is maybe very emotionally immature (not a shock given his background).

Love the sharing of opinions! I want the best dancers to get to the final but quite often they will be the past experience ones. I'd hate someone useless to get to the final. They'd need to be good enough to hold their own. Having said that, the media are obsessed with flushing out past dance experience. Someone might have taken ballroom lessons so they can do the first dance at their wedding and the media would cry foul. 🙄

My favourites tend to be the ones that make me feel something. Danny Macs Samba is probably my most rewatched strictly performance, well it was until Laytons AT, but I found him quite bland as a person and wasn’t willing him on to win.

This year the only ones who have really made me feel an emotion watching them dance are Krishnan and Lauren and Layton and Nikita. I really like Ellie and Vito and think she will probably win because she is a very good dancer and is probably the least polarising contestant they have left. I enjoy her performances but haven’t felt any emotions watching her dance yet though 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t ever get to watch in real time so I usually just read along on here and don’y contribute as everything has already been said!
However… I don’t get the tit Nigel is getting for his reaction. He was disappointed, angry (at himself, I think) and it showed. It’s an entertainment show… wouldn’t it be dull if they all just smiled sweetly at the end and said ‘thank you very much’. Same goes for them all… it’s far more interesting to watch when you see their genuine reactions. No one has given Carlos any tit for crying out of pride/happiness (rightly so), but anger and disappointment are normal human emotions too.
Disclaimer… not a thirsty Mumsnet Nigel fan, I think he’s pretty meh, but don’t think his reaction is an issue.
I'm so glad someone who is not a fan took time out to write this 🙏

The knives were out Saturday no matter what

'just dare let them give Nigel a 40 now after nobody else got one'

'What a fix saving the 40 for Nigel'

Then the 7 and 8's came out.
Everyone bar Angela danced better than him on the night according to the judges the worst routine at Blackpool bar one......

'miserable bastard, he should be pleased'

Finding a bit of balance on the socials is rare these days so it's much appreciated.

Bobby was apparently very sweet to another little girl (I think it is a different one as her name began with K). He remembered her from speaking to her on Friday and brought her a hot chocolate when he saw her again.

I don’t think Bobby is a bad lad, I think he is just quite immature with an awful taste in coats. He isn’t a great dancer though and I hope he is voted off within the next week or two.

Him and Annabel are the weakest dancers left in there. I never enjoyed any of Bobby's dances, I have actually enjoyed at least one of Annabel's so I hope he goes next!

I still find Annabel very forgettable but her Couple's Choice was beautiful and very genuine, plus I also liked her dance this week. I'd prefer her to stay over Bobby, plus it's an easy choice between Jojo and Dianne for which pro is doing the better job!

Nigel (aka Dennis Watts) and Sharon put a £1 into a jar every time they did it, in case anyone’s wondering how she got the money to buy the gym 🤫

That was a such a random script at the time, however the moral of the story was if you do it often enough Sharon, who 'couldn't have children, so go and have your dream with Zoe', eventually got unexpectedly pregnant with litttle Denny.

It was Dennis Rickman, not Watts. Den Watts snr had a one night stand with Paula, the daughter of one of his best mates.

So loved the character Dennis and of course Nigel and the way he portrayed him.
