Not a big Dianne fan but I felt for her there as she must have been torn if voted out she could do and see her dad but also wants to stay. She said her dad watches and told the hospital staff all about her etc so stay gives him something to look forward to each week.
The right person went IMO think from now on the actual dances will matter more due to trying to pick up votes from those whose favourite has left etc.
 
Dianne's parents were supposed to be coming over this month, maybe it was supposed to be this week, obviously that had to change. Add in her Dad starting chemo, not being able to be there, being tired because of the amount of work and then the dance off, I'm not surprised she cried. I think she needs a break and I wouldn't be at all surprised if she didn't do the tour.

Currently in a back and forth with my friend because I said that none of the others got the same air time with their goodbyes that Angela just got and she’s saying “Because the others have only been around 5 minutes. Like Eddie cadie, I loved him but had never heard of him before strictly. Whereas I knew who angela Rippon was when I was about 8 cos she was on tv every weekend. She was Really famous when I was young. Guess nobody as old as me would know/remember though!”
But that doesn’t mean she should get any more time than the other contestants? I argued it’s only because of her input on Come Dancing that she got that red carpet treatment and the response was “Maybe so.. but come dancing paved the way for strictly” Yes but aren’t they all supposed to be treated equally and no bias?!?

I think this week is really exhausting for the celebs and pros. There was no day off on Sunday so they didn't even get time to choreograph, there's extra promo for Blackpool, and they were in the ballroom yesterday morning at 8:30, finishing at 11pm. Dianne like the others must be shattered, and her dad's just started chemo.

If she wanted to I think the BBC would allow her to leave and just pair Bobby up with another pro. Maybe the thought they could reach the final has made her want to stay, but I wonder if now they’ve been in the bottom 2 and Dianne has seen they’re not getting the votes if she would be tempted to leave early.

What terrible routine, lighting, clothes, and apart from 1 song in the medley, rubbish choice - what a waste of Carlos and Nancy.

Also the Madness dance routine- what the heck?! A rumbesque, rubbish pretend energy dance to that song.

(Wake me up before you go go singing sounded like popping into a cheaper than poundland shop and the company has bought the cheapest cd of cover versions to blast through their speakers much to the customers and the cashiers disdain).

He was still in a state with Claudia and not his usual comical self. Was Claudia expecting him to get on his knees to thank everyone for voting. That would have looked so forced.

Your last sentence sums it up perfectly.

It does feel personal, perhaps he gets on with everybody so well. @Willow9999 mentioned he was friendly and goofy with the pros and other celebs. (thanks @Willow9999 for all your input đŸ€— ) For me he is talented above and beyond, actor, singer, director, meditation instructor, ohhh and he can dance really well too. :rolleyes:

Hope 'Sexy Hips Harman' dances like a dream next week. Come on Nigel you don't need to pretend you are not a dancer any longer. 😁

I think she said her family told her to stay. Her dad texts her every Saturday morning wishing her luck and everything, she normally posts them on her insta stories. I think she's just finding the whole situation really difficult, which is understandable.

I don't think its about her needing to go to Oz right now; her dad is receiving treatment currently and I'm sure if he was being told he had a terminal diagnoses (god forbid) then of course she would leave.

All that being said I think your allowed to be upset; like I said in a previous post I've seen other pro's cry at times as well; case in point last night.

She got as much time as the producers needed to fill. The results show is the same length regardless of whether there are 16 couples or 4 couples in the show, so as the contestants reduce each week, the recaps and reveals take up less time, and hence the speeches get longer until the point where they pad it out even more with a ‘best bits’ VT.

It’s not a conspiracy, it’s just maths đŸ€·â€â™€ïž
