I agree with this. I was kinda dreading Laytons CC as I thought it would be an over performed, old Layton kinda dance. But it wasn’t at all. I didn’t love it as a dance in general (although I didn’t hate it, I thought it was quite unique) but Layton danced it carefully & really well I thought. I’ve watched it back a few times now and while it possibly does go off time with the music, I’m still struggling to see where they weren’t in sync when dancing side by side. They weren’t always coreo’d to do the same thing and that maybe looked a little messy?

Hopefully they all got drunk & had a great night afterwards! 😄
 
I wasn’t pissing taking in a nasty way with my post earlier about Ellie’s CC - I really like her and think she is throughly deserving of a lifting the glitter ball but like others I think I wanted to see her do a more “grown up” Charleston. Stupid comment incoming but she looked a bit child like last night and I think she could of shown off a more confident side

Maybe Bobbys popularity is waning and they are going for the kids vote. I usually find Vitos bumbling puppy act adorable but wanted him to shut the duck up last night.

Strictly's problem with any celeb under 25 is that they treat them like school kids, but last night was the first youngish costume she's had I think,
 
Just thinking I hope it's Fleur who has Nigel and Katya on ITT. Janette is too scripted when someone needs a bit of cheering up. 'How did you feel when you were second from the bottom on the leaderboard?' Then rushes into next question. Etc.

I honestly thought Shirley would like Nigel. A bit like the way she was about Will Mellor. Until that fateful night 😁... the night of the cape...
 
Well that was a bit flat … and stompy in places.
most of the songs had been dialled down to ‘dirge’. Somewhere George (❤️) was shouting ‘speed it up a bit’. Unchained Melody was abysmal.
I think Nigel suffered from having stripes down the side of his trousers. They were like big arrows pointing out the stuttery footwork (and there was a lot). Katya had a death grip and was hauling him into position. Is that running around in a circle where it looks like the lady is supposed to go down into the cleaning the floor sweep but doesn’t an actual move? Eliie and Vito did similar in one dance and Nigel and Katya did last night and it just looks odd and a bit half finished.
(I don’t thin the fact they soft soaped Angela R really meant anything. It was obvious she was for the chop, she was bottom of the board and points adrift and just in case there was any doubt, Craig was there).
 
Oof, saw a clip on twitter of someone filming in the audience as they were doing their keep dancing bit at the end. As soon as they are told the cameras are off, Nigel storms off and poor Katya has to go chase after him 😬🙈 oh Nigel!

Annabelle was the dance of the night for me. I’ve been neutral towards her but I thought she was graceful and elegant last night, it was beautiful. I adore Johannes, too.

I really felt for Nigel, can only echo what has already been said about the focus on mistakes. He looked really crestfallen. Kayta is my fave female pro, I think she’s a goddess with sass and an incredible dancer, choreographer and teacher.

Angela S was great, I just can’t warm to her as a person. Bobby was good, but didn’t wow me, and Angela R was pretty ropey.

Ellie is a queen, and I really enjoyed her dance.

I didn’t enjoy Layton and Nikita‘s dance. I love commercial/street dance, but this just didn’t hit the spot for me. The costumes were awful, too. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Fleur’s CC last year.

no, i’m with you! someone last night referred to the style as a trainers and ponytail charleston - and it’s just not my taste. she danced it really well but i love a more 1920s jazzy charleston, which i think she could have done. they maybe didn’t because they styling would have looked so similar to nigel’s big band stuff though i guess.
 
Cannot take to Nigel at all and his finale was all very underwhelming, think producers thought he’d be a cert for a 40 but was all a bit meh.

Ellie dance was amazing. Loved it!

Why is thirsty Neil still allowed in the background of every shot behind Claudia? He’s so infantile and desperate, I have no cringe left for him.
