Bobby likely lost votes thanks to Nigel,I saw so many throwing him all their votes to save him and then Annabel only had to beat him by literally 1 vote seeing as they were tied on the leaderboard and I think people underestimate how popular Johannes is and how that impacts her votes

That's true about Ellie. I loved the fact that she said early on that it was great to be able to smile after not being able to for so long on Corrie 😁. She is a lovely lass, and her growing confidence in herself is great to see. It sounds like she has come out the other side of some hard knocks.

Thats a very good point and as Bobby seems to be quite a favourite with at least three of the judges, it's funny if their criticism of Nigel has kinda backfired in that way. They definitely drove votes towards Nigel anyway and people may have thought Bobby was safe. As for Johannes, OMG, he is such a beautiful man, in every way. I get mesmerised when he dances.

I genuinely haven't got a clue what the rationale of the absolute battering he's getting is. If he was the only one who made mistakes, maybe (although it's still not constructive criticism), but he really isn't.

On another note I was a bit baffled when Craig said Ellie had the best swivel he'd ever seen or whatever because there only seemed to be about two seconds of swivel steps in the routine.

That's not a slight on Ellie, her swivel did look good and she can only dance the routine she's given but still.

Craig can be more measured and level headed with his critiques but he can also go bizarrely OTT. I'll never get over his bowing to Debbie McGee. It was so cringeworthy.
 
A comment on the last thread but this isn’t Nikita’s girlfriend, it’s Molly Rainford from last year.

Ellie was good but i thought the dance maybe would've looked better in heels? Maybe that's why it looked a bit 'stompy' in places. (probably would've made some of the lifts hard though.) Wasn't a fan of the cheesy theming. (Yes, i know it's blackpool lol)

Agree with some of the coments on here re Angela and Nigel. I know they're not on par with Ellie or Layton but they seem to be treated more harshly by the judges. Angela was my fave tonight alongside Ellie.
 
I hope Ellie doesn’t do a CC - I don’t want her to have to roll out a sob story plus you know she’d get some awful kiddo theming a la Molly.
I also think I just don’t want Matt Flint to do Charlestons - Ellie did brilliantly (that first lift is amazing) and she looked so confident leading the girls, but he does this Lindy Hop thing which is less about swivels than kicking your legs (and the swivels were facing the judges which was good for Craig but not for us).

And as with Fleur’s the girl is in trainers which is harder and always looks less elegant - I rewatched FR and Georgia’s the other day and it as so good - just a classic Charleston with swivels and great styling, and in heels.
(And that’s the last positive thing I’ll say about FR this season!)

The judges are all over the place this series.

I have lost respect for Craig after him constantly over marking and over praising Angela R. Including giving her a 9 for a Charleston where she spent a lot of time sitting down. And he’s supposed to be the most honest!

Motsi has gone from words that mean nothing, like ‘that was fire, you gave energy, you brought it’ to giving mostly decent critiques. I much prefer her this way. She is well spoken and intelligent, she was just keeping it hidden!

Shirley is a puzzle. She can be an absolute cow to some, yet over the top emotional with others. She definitely doesn’t seem to like Katya, but she is head judge and shouldn’t let these things show.

And Anton. Oh Anton. I was so pleased he got the judging role, but all he does is talk nonsense: wayhey, give it some of that, whoosh, oof, I’ll have some of that. It’s just rubbish, and so disappointing when he could be making valid contributions.

I agree with others that the panel needs a shake up, I would keep the current version of Motsi and lose two of the other three.
 
I think my expectations were too high for the show last night and as a result of which I found the whole thing disappointing. Neither Layton it Ellie delivered for me. Sync issues with the former, too much time in the air for the latter. Unless Nigel really pulls something out of the bag, he may yet be gone before the final. He was under marked though and the relentless criticism must sting.

Ban trainers except for lindy hops or the dreaded street couples choices.
I miss "traditional" charleston choreography, I want more swivels, arm flapping, even Ola choreographed the charleston moves for Chris Hollins (albeit flat footedly whilst channelling Benny Hill).
