But always wondered if it was because Shirley likes/is friends with Neil, whether she just hated the public humiliation it brought him regardless or whether she just didn’t like what it did to the show..

If that's the case she needs to get over it. Katya and Neil are fine now and have moved on why can't she. I think her previous husband cheated on her but that's her business which shouldn't impact her job. BTW as others have said I don't believe their marriage was even 100% real. Neil is different with Chyna as their relationship actually seems more genuine.

Very unprofessional. Regardless of her personal feelings towards Katya she should be judging the dances and choreography not the personal actions of the professional from years ago. Katya is the best female choreographer on the show by a mile and generally gets really good performances from her partners.

Sadly I think you’re right. Nikita totally Laytonised the dance and pushed it as far as I think he could on BBC1 Saturday night TV but it will have been too far for lots of people. I would quite happily sit here and watch their filth every night. Who would have thought Strictly would have 2 blokes sexily writhing around a pole at Blackpool?

My Nan (huge strictly fan) passed away several years ago which is a bit of luck in a way because she couldn’t even cope with women wearing trousers or men wearing jeans with a suit jacket. She wouldn’t have appreciated this at all 😂

Exactly this! It was nothing to do with her and it's not for her to hold any grudges about it. Also, life is complicated and at times messy. No one is perfect. People can duck up and still be brilliant people and the opposite is also true. Stop projecting your feelings onto other people.
 
Finally caught up after their audio description duck up.

Knobby - I found it a bit boring, could see him in the DO this week. I feel like he peaked early and there hasn't been much improvement for weeks now, it's his time to go in the next few weeks imo.

Layton & Nikita - overmarked. Should've been 9's all round. Craig is the only one who pays attention to the details and doesn't get carried away with the excitement of the performance. I think better outfits could've made the performance look a bit slicker though. Those trousers looked ridiculous.

Rippon - absolutely terrible, the worst of the night by far. I don't think they can justify saving her in the DO this week.

Annabell - I thought that was a very sweet American smooth, she's definitely more suited to the ballroom dances. Doesn't have what it takes to reach the final obviously but I really do think she's quite a good dancer. Ringer for Johannes next year though please!

Ellie & Vito - I was really hoping they'd get the first 40 or the series but it just fell short of perfection for me. Loved it though and they're still my winners.

Angela & Carlos - I loved their AT, glad to see them getting some 10s as they did deserve it for that dance imo.

Nigel & Katya - absolutely gorgeous outfits. Loved the style of the dance. I did spot a mistake, it's such a shame as that dance really had potential to get a 40.

Yet again the judges didn't even acknowledge Katya. Shirley in particular never addresses her or refers to her. I think nearly every other pro gets a mention or even spoken directly to. Or told how great their partnership is. Strange.

Well spotted. Katya never gets the recognition, although she is an excellent dancer and brilliant choreographer.

May....be, it is because neither Katya or Nigel are perhaps not doing the Strictly Live Tour. Katya is not listed on the professionals tour either.

Would be surprised if Nigel wants to continue with the Live Strictly tour, 4 months is quite long enough, Doubt he would commit if Katya was not available. This is not because of the judges marks either, he may want to get back to some theatre work and probably have to do some promo for his exit on Casualty.

Would love him to get to the final, win it even, just for some redemption and a lesson of never giving up through adverstity. Has he had some 'live tv' adversity recently, well ever since week 2, that is a long time to cope.

Yeah it's such a shame isn't it.

To stand on top of that grand piano on your own and do a solo section then going into hold the routine was packet with content from start to finish but no nod to Katya then to hear all your mistakes detailed and with the exception of one other person you're the worst dancer of the night, yours was the worst routine all the others were better.
Those marks for that content and performance level, it seems harsh to me 🤷
