I have just caught up. Carlos crying, aww! What a sweetheart.

Confession - unless someone fell over, I wouldn't notice mistakes. šŸ˜ I loved Nigel and Katya's dance.
Yet again the judges didn't even acknowledge Katya. Shirley in particular never addresses her or refers to her. I think nearly every other pro gets a mention or even spoken directly to. Or told how great their partnership is. Strange.

This is a really good point. I've never noticed, but you're right. Just another weird thing about the way they give feedback on them

Whenever Shirley does address the female pros it's always 'this young lady ' or just 'she'. Comes across as very aloof. She's just so damn unlikeable.

I really used to like Anton but I think he has got too big for his boots in recent years and isnā€™t as likeable as he was. I also think he is an over scorer .

I think Anton has definitely got some health issues. I loved his first year as a stand-in judge but recently heā€™s been talking tripe. Doesnā€™t make sense and isnā€™t remotely funny. Bring back Arlene or bring in Karen Hardy.

I think the "great partnership" thing is just a substitute for any real criticism.

I mean, they've said Bobby and Dianne's partnership is great when she'd clearly rather be elsewhere.
 
Still get more chemistry from probably straight Nikita towards Layton than Ellie towards Vito. Iā€™d love them to be together & Iā€™ve been very wrong in the past but they just donā€™t give me early stage of a relationship, chemistry vibes. But then, while I do think Vito is a bit gorgeous, his persona on Strictly is more excitable puppy than anything else. So maybe thatā€™s whatā€™s throwing me here. He was sexy as hell in that old footage someone posted on the last thread when he wasnā€™t bouncing around in his cute ass way he does now!

Iā€™ll be intrigued to see after the show finishes! I hope so for her šŸ˜‚

I noticed it a while back and I watch now when they are giving Nigel feedback. Katya might as well not exist.
Almost every other couple gets told what a great partnership they have or the pro gets a mention in some way. An acknowledgment of their choreography. Something. But nada for her.

Didn't any see the balbkety Blackpool thing they did? They had to fill in the blanks about each judge and Shirley's was to do with having something named after her. Nigel said a rollercoaster and then basically trolled her going 'ooh that was too slow' 'the techniques all wrong'. I couldn't stop laughing!

Yeah I agree, he is genuinely upset. I remember that when Angela R got upset about her results people were very quick to judge her (rightfully so too - she is not up to scratch gone to be a bit of a one trick pony). I just don't get how people are giving him 'sympathy votes'

i do enjoy his dancing to an extent though - and he is not the worst there. but strictly is more than just the judges scores. Even if you are upset about the results, you know you are on live tv....Just put a smile on for the public or for the 3 minutes thats in it. He is an actor after all - he could do it if he wanted to.

I'm not a Nigel hater by any means & am extra excited to have another week of katya who is my fave!

All I mean is that each day people around the world who have serious illnesses / problems put a brave smile on for their kids / loved ones. There are kids in war torn countries etc. Dianne's father literally just started chemo this week. Amy is having chemo. Not trying to take from his feelings - he is entitiled to feel upset / dissapointment. It's more a case of emotions vs behaviours.

Anywayyyy I loved Ellie and Layton too. Ellie is having the time of her life - which i am living for as her character on corrie was always sour faced. I see a new side to her which I am here for!
 
I always thought Shirley took a real turn on Katya after the Seann scandal. I always got the impression she was really not impressed. But always wondered if it was because Shirley likes/is friends with Neil, whether she just hated the public humiliation it brought him regardless or whether she just didnā€™t like what it did to the show..

I don't dislike Shirley (unlike most of this thread šŸ˜‚) but she's definitely a bit of an odd one.

Sometimes I think she treats Strictly as a bit of fun in contrast to the strict competitions she's been involved with her whole life but then suddenly she reverts to Technical Martinent mode and I haven't got a clue anymore.

I think she struggles to balance her years honed approach with the more fun side of Strictly and swings wildly between the two extremes which makes her come across inconsistent/biased/mental etc.

Craig balances it a bit better and Anton and Motsi don't give a tit God love them.
