As for Dan, that was obviously intended so I didn't take the upside paddle flinging seriously. I can't see him without thinking of lobster!

I didn't like Layton at first- I hated his camp/diva persona and it being acted out in his dances, it was 'basic' attention seeking/show off behaviour. But that's the audience's journey - liking or not liking a celeb to vice versa, not knowing a celeb to recognising them and looking forward to their work after scd. I'm a fan of his now.

**re the term Beryl or Karen, it's such an offensive, and generalising of women who have opinions, it's ageist and misogynistic.

I’m both on fb and that age group and I’m not offended. I know exactly the type we are referring to.
 
Dancers sure are a touch feely bunch. Assumed that was Gemma lying on top of Gorka in the first photo until I registered that it wouldn't make sense for her to be wearing the same robe as the dancers. From the outfit it appears to be Luba. You certainly wouldn't want to date a dancer if you were the jealous type! 😂

Most of them seem to be wearing similar outfits, so probably for the group number, I'm guessing. Let's hope Vito doesn't add a shirt to that, it's perfect the way it is. 🥵

I sometimes wonder are the dresses for the female dancers well secured, as in practically glued on.

Say Katya's dress last weekend - which I loved. At the back were just quite flimsy looking straps, that I would be petrified would give way when she is dancing or being lifted or whatever.

Lots of flesh coloured power mesh used to hold the body in, plus tit tape, being stitched into underwear, all sorts.

I believe Angela R said something a few weeks ago about there being lots of layers that are all sewn together to make sure nothing can get out of place.

I also imagine they probably have some kind of nipple cover/tit tape situation going on to make sure they wouldn't be fully flashing millions of people if there was a catastrophic strap failure.

It might have been DWTS, not Strictly, but I remember some wardrobe person saying they glue the girls' underwear to their bums so they don't ride up.

Yes, presumably Luba, with Karen's hand casually on her arse which will excite the Karen/Luba shippers out there (yes, there are some)

Vito is single-handedly freeing the nipple by the looks of it. Long may he continue.

I agree. It’s important for the professionals to dance in Blackpool. The celebrities must feel pressure to do well for their partner too.

Layton said that last night - that he knew how much Blackpool meant to Nikita so he wanted to do him justice. I thought that was lovely.

Just watched the training clips and I'm a bit worried about the use of strobe in L&N's dance. Hops they're not going to use too much or I'll have to have my eyes shut for the whole thing.
 
I think the most insane Blackpool week was in 2020 when they couldn't go, so had a pretend Blackpool week where all the celebs were talking like they were actually in Blackpool. I remember Ranvir in particular going on about how she'd always dreamt of dancing in Blackpool, how getting there was amazing etc etc

And then the following year, they clearly realised that was deeply weird so just pretended Blackpool did not exist 😂

Can you tell us about the first time you performed in Blackpool?
The first time I performed in Blackpool, I was probably seven or eight. I was really young and I was incredibly scared. I have never been scared of any competition in my life, but Blackpool was the only one. I went into the wrong heat because I was too nervous and it was too late for my parents to do anything about it because I was already on the dancefloor doing my thing, the wrong thing at the wrong time!

😀😀😀 I’ve got this image of Nikita going onto the dance floor during the female heats or the 16 - 18 category or something and the judges all looking at each other like
 
I’m pretty sure that’s Nikita’s girlfriend in the second last pic, what a random friendship 🤣 I wonder if she will follow him around the country on tour like Chyna did with Neil last year? I wouldn’t blame her 🤣
