I've deleted my previous reply @MeghanSnarkle because I think it was too harsh. Apologies.

I really didn't understand what you meant by that post, but re this one, people talk about whether certain contestants are given a more favourable selection of dances or more suitable music etc. because there has been quite naked attempts at manipulation of the votes and the elimination order before.

Can the producers actually "fix" it? No. But they can try to advantage certain contestants. Angela Rippon would certainly be knocked out by a fast Latin dance and she hasn't had one after week 1 whereas everyone else has had at least one and some have had many more (Layton).

They also try to create "moments" for publicity and social media engagement. Rose's CC last year with the silent moment. It's why people are surprised Angela isn't recreating her famous Morecambe & Wise routine at Blackpool because it's the sort of thing the show like to make a huge fuss about.

I really don't want to see a Bobby CC. I find him a real dullard, a bit Pervy and not at all the sweetheart I had thought he might be. He's dim too and I'm not finding it endearing. He's been alright but there's been little by the way of improvement. I'd be happy for him to go either this weekend as I'm unconvinced he will be able to deliver a decent jive, or next.

Shirley is a sucker for the CC VT’s … give her some warm and fuzzy family moments, some triumph over adversity or a bit of pathos and grief and she is putty. Genuinely, she’ll be doubled hankied before the first step.

I have no idea what that CC would look like, especially considering he himself has said he has no memories of his mother.

I think people were expecting too much of him when he's basically just a dopey teenager.

I thought he would be quite sweet but tbh after him having his arse on display in the training room, I just can't take to him. (Now that's not saying I hate him, btw. I saw a post at some stage talking about him being hated on here 😁. I just can't take to him.)

I'd kinda like a shock elimination in Blackpool if it was him.
As an aside, it's hard to believe that Ellie is a mere two years older than him.

Oh my god, it hadn't even twigged that she's just two years older - she's SO much more mature, intelligent, funny, competent and likable!!

They do say men mature earlier than women but there's an absolute gulf between them.

Then again, Matt Di Angelo wasn't much older when he did Strictly I don’t think and he seemed much more sensible.
 
With Bobby doing a jive ...got a feeling Angela R gonna make it through Blackpool week ffs 🙄
The public clearly not voting for Madame Rippon but if she ends up in Blackpool week DO, the judges will have to save her again after their overmarking and bias got her there in the first place 🤷🏼‍♀️
Cue a montage of clips of her presenting come dancing back in the day 🙄
 
I don’t think Strictly is ‘fixed’ but I think there are pushes in certain directions based on the order they have their dances! And the judges are biased, there’s no getting away from that. As in life, we all have our favourites. Ours is simply from the personality we see on screen, theirs is more personal as they get to know each years cast & partnerships. I also think some stuff is based on external factors, such as Nikita’s dodgy knee during their Jive week. There’s no way it wasn’t recommended physically that they give them a slower, easier on the knees dance last week. Or Nikita risked not being able to dance at all.

I don’t think there’s a conspiracy behind Layton. He’s the ringer, his journey will be much like every ringers. Nor do I think there’s a conspiracy behind Nigel or Ellie bar the bizarre costume choices for Nigel & a little bit of a showmance play from Ellie. I don’t think she’s encouraging it though, if anything, I often think the competitive pros push that kinda angle!
