I think there were a few reasons that Cameron didn't work.

Firstly, his dancing just wasn't up to the same standard as the other pros and he always seems out of sync. That had to raise question marks as to how he'd handle a celeb who didn't know anything about dancing.

Secondly, as others have said - a lack of social media engagement and not appearing on tours. If you're a benched pro looking for a promotion to main pro, utilising social media and getting yourself known to fans on tours are the best ways to do it.

Thirdly, he didn't fit any specific role on the show. I'd say there's four types of male pro that the show has generally stuck to - the foreign hunks (Gorka, Giovanni, Vito, Aljaž, Pasha, Artem etc), the 'homeboy' (Kai, Kevin, Darren Bennett), the pretty guy who appeals to younger viewers and dances with younger celebs (AJ, Nikita, Carlos) and then there's usually a big personality in there (for years, this was Brendan & Anton, now Johannes & Neil). Like it or not, this is a formula they've stuck to over the years and all of the successful ones have fit one of these types.

I feel genuinely sorry for him, he is very young and being so far away from home and possibly having a very negative experience can't have been a fun time. I wish him all the best and hope he finds a gig that suits him well.
 
Poor Cameron. He seems like a nice guy and popular with the other pros. Hope he gets a good gig somewhere

With regards to the returning pros - I think the real disappointing part is that there is no change whatsoever in the female pro lineup, I've said it all before so I'm not going to bother labouring the point.

I expected all of the other men back except for Giovanni and that one is just a bit of a head-scratcher to me. Everyone has their time and last year blatantly was his time. He's literally done everything he can on the show as a competitor but is never going to have another Rose and he just seems bored with it and a bit above it all now. Is he seriously up for duffer duty? I'd laugh my head off if they did give him a genuine no-hoper.

With regards to the bench - I'm really hoping Lauren finds a way into the main lineup. The others, I wouldn't hold my breath. Michelle's chances of leaving the bench are (IMO) slim but hopefully she settles into the show better this time. If she still seems uncomfortable like last year, she might be at risk of being 'Cameron-ed' next year. Neil & Luba had their chances and clearly the show doesn't see them as a fit for the main lineup. I fully expect them to continue on the bench.

One more thing - since we're stuck with a lot of the same pros, please dear god switch the types of partnerships up!!! Can we at least see something different?
 
I want to see Gorka with someone fun this year, him and Tameka were great together and I think he is quite goofy.
I really thought Giovanni would leave, I just don’t see what’s left for him to do. He’s reached the final many times, been in a same sex partnership, he’s won the show, he’s won a bafta. I was listening to his interview with Spencer on Big Fish this morning and even from it I thought he would have been leaving.
No more Diane and Karen pleeeeeease bench them and give Michelle and Karen a chance. I can’t see what other male pro they would bench apart from Neil (if they choose Neil over Gorka again I promise you I will riot!!!!!!) they’ll maybe bring in someone new to bench.
I’d love to see Karen win.

I think you have some names mixed up, you want Karen to be benched, to be given a chance and also to win.
 
Ideas:
Giovanni: Anneka Rice 2.0.
Gorka: Something other than 2nd/3rd eliminated or runner-up. A winner, a fun duffer or average Blackpool run maybe.
Graziano: Ringer
Johannes: Maybe a sports celeb? Would like a different dynamic for him.
Kai: Same-sex pairing
Nikita: Ringer
Carlos: A big personality contestant
Vito: An enthusiastic beginner who can stay a few weeks (think Sara Davies type).

Karen: Another creative challenge or a contender, she deserves an apology for last year.
Katya: Mega ringer who can do the stunts and inventive choreo justice.
Amy: Anyone other than "30-something nice young man' but ideally a duffer who leaves first/second.
Dianne: Same-sex pairing
Nadiya: Hot young guy who has dance skill, time for her to make a final.
Nancy: A charming middle aged/older duffer who is not at all highly strung.
Jowita: Whoever the shortest guy is but maybe someone with a little more edge than Hamza?
Lauren: Middle of the road contestant with potential to improve, hopefully a decent first run.

100% think that Neil/Michelle/Luba will be benched so didn't include them

But agree. They're my faves so I would love to see Gorka and Karen in with a chance again ❤️

On the one hand, I get why Giovanni is there. But on the other hand, he just seems so detached from Strictly now and completely over it. I think it just comes down to how much effort a pro puts into making sure their celeb has a great experience (no matter how good or bad they are, how much they get on with them), and he just didn't seem bothered about Richie's Strictly experience at all

And a heartfelt plea to production to cut back on the Misery Memoire dances. It’s supposedly a bright, sparkly, feel good family Saturday evening show. I don’t want all the celebs choking back tears every week as they explain how that dance meant so much because it was dedicated to the Auntie’s milkman of her next door, because they have just lost their Guinea pig. Or was it hamster. Maybe gerbil. Something small and furry that lives in a cage anyway. Lip wobble. Wipe <non existent> tear away.

You can bet if he gets a proper contender he'll be full-on 100% showmancing, lingering looks, the lot. I'll never get over him attending the Strictly, tour, in which his then-girlfriend Jowita was appearing, and posting about his own show at halftime while never mentioning the show he was actually at.
 
I still dislike the fact that Giovanni instead of embracing Ritchie’s energy he tried to dull it and then after being voted off should no enthusiasm at all being on Strictly. Never supports anything Strictly related unless it is for personal gain. Even if some of the pros aren’t the most exciting choreographers with their celeb partners, at least they seem excited to be back and be part of Strictly.
Glad that Carlos and Vito are back. Would like to see Lauren with a partner this year.
