Yes - he's the male Aliona. A middler could be good.

What I don't see him doing is a same-sex pairing though. I think of all the remaining male pros who haven't done it yet, he's probably the one who fits the bill for it the least. Unless it was a celeb he really clicked with, I think it would be kinda uncomfortable. The other men are all a bit more camp or are the types who can work well with any celeb.

To be fair, Helen was a nice steady middler (granted, a popular one with a good journey arc) and he got her to the final without hitting the bottom two

Honestly, I had Helen down as a finalist from her being announced (sadly no money on it). She had just about everything going for her Strictly-wise … Blue Peter presenter from an era of presenters that always does well, had been on the wish list for years, known to just about all ages of the Strictly watchers, attractive without being threatening, good without being too good … and that’s before you get to the backstory. id have been more surprised at an earlier exit.

Yeah, that's fair enough. I was more thinking middler in terms of her not being a ringer unlike the other times Gorka got the final

I do hope they're considering Helen as she'd be a great fit (and also plausible that they were lining her up as Janette's cover). But I'm now deeply sceptical about anything in the Mirror that mentions stuff that's been discussed here and on DS

so I’ve heard that Shirley is leaving in a huff after a massive bust-up with Dave Arch. The pros’ WhatsApp group is abuzz with rumours that the new Head Judge will be someone who is eminently qualified and has the gravitas - LadyLavender. Concerns that Gio will be marked on a scale of 1-1000 are surely unfounded.

I think they only film a couple of days a week and it's a 3 month contract which will probably pay quite well.

Plus if Tess or Claudia come down with the flu, or in Claudia's case Traitors becomes her main job, she'd be in prime position for the main show.

I think she'd be mad not to take it.

Fact is not everybody likes the same TV Presenters. I stopped watching ITT when Rylan joined. I liked him but not as Presenter of this show.

You should be grateful that Alsuon Hammond has landed Bake Off or else she'd be the front runner.

Personally, I'm thinking that AJ Odudu or Ore Oduba will be in the running.

i don’t mind her but i think she lacks the personality that you need - she’s very controlled and very measured, i can’t see her doing choreography corner (as an example), it needs someone a little looser and also someone who’s a natural chatty sort of interviewer (janette isn’t, and that’s always where she struggles imo).

of the options in the thread so far i think ellie t would be great. also, they’d never ever do it but karen hardy was always a lovely presence when she did CC. you know we’re gonna end up with joe sugg or richie though.

I’d be fine with literally anyone but AJ (how’s trish and victim of Nadiya’s evil schemes).

I agree with others, would love Ellie T to do it. Absolutely loved her on the show albeit not being the best dancer
