He kissed Carlos on the cheek earlier in the day on IG. I think Vito is just very affectionate. I wouldn’t mind a hug and kiss from him!

I don't care if we're not getting jaw dropping dances at this stage, everyone bar two couples were a joy to watch. I honestly think the likes of Kelvin and Danny have spoiled some viewers and they expect WOW moments from the get go so anything that's simply good or pleasant to watch isn't enough... (But only if the media aren't ramming their dance training down our throats).

I don't see how Layton gets the "oh it's unfair" treatment from the same people who still give out that Ore won over Danny. Especially when Nigel, Angela S and Ellie all have previous dance training too, and Nigel has a hefty musical background given his age too.

Anyway. All this to say it's a shame this thread is a bit of a downer 🤣 it feels Almost uncool to say I'm really enjoying the show this year

I think there's plenty of positivity on this thread combined with snark. Reading and posting on this thread adds to the joy of watching each week for me. And I'm really enjoying this series; I feel like there's a few couples with the potential to really wow us in the coming weeks.

As for Layton, I love watching him dance but his dance experience far eclipses anyone else's IMO. He was the lead in Billy Elliot and Everybody's Talking About Jamie - two dance heavy musicals on the West End and the latter of which he left only last year. I'd say he's up there with Ashley Roberts in being the biggest ringer the show has ever had. And he's in the same position as her too because Faye was a ringer as well but it's the person with the most dance experience that's always going to face the criticism.
 
@secretlondoner I think it's a great thread but I get fed up with snarkiness about the celebs when it's not show/scd related, and it's cos the poster dont like the celeb personally.
I mean I have no problem slating Jayde she was awful on Strictly and she has continued to be awful off Strictly whilst still using the tagline of Strictly.

The show is fabulous and it has hit and miss moments - but that's why we dissect it here, because scd is entertainment, we come back for the good and bad of the show.

Keep posting positive stuff, it's welcomed by me!

Plus at least a third of the posts are about how we want Vito and Nikita to play snooker with our tonsils.
 
I'm not overly shocked at the bottom 2...but I am shocked at Eddie going over Zara.
Zara's dance was terrible, she looked awkward and stiff and unless shes in hold she just stands still looking terrified! Yes Eddie's dance was a bit awkward looking, but at least he actually tries to dance. He's not improved much, and I doubt its souly down to Karen...maybe he's actually just not that good!
 
The dance-off result isn't a surprise but it's a shame that Eddie never lived up to the potential he showed on the launch show. From the first week when the choreography didn't match the dance style, something has been off, and I wonder if it is a mix of Karen not being in the right frame of mind for teaching/choreographing this year and Eddie not being willing/able to vary his dancing style.

Zara looks to be heading for the chop next week especially as she's due a latin dance again. I think Annabel won't be far behind either - although will the producers want her out before she does her couple's choice? And, from polls and social media, it doesn't seem like Angela S has the support I expected her to. She has potential so I hope her and Carlos kick it up a gear soon otherwise I think they'll be in a dance-off before Blackpool as well.

I love the show this year...I think there's a proper mix of characters, talent and dance abilities! It makes it more interesting.

We're never going to all love the same people, or likewise all hate the same people...it's good to have a place to share opinions! I love posting on this thread it adds to the joy of watching at the weekend, and I think on the whole it's a really positive and horny thread!
 
I’m enjoying the show too! I literally don’t give a rats ass that there are ringers, it’s an entertainment show. Not a professional dancing competition! They have actual trained dancers on other versions of the show in other countries. It’s really not a big deal. As history shows, the ringers never win as god forbid the British don’t support the underdog 😂 #dannymacwasrobbed

My thoughts exactly. I look at the scores she received versus what others who really danced their socks off, received, and am amazed. The scoring really is all over the place. She was off the floor more than she was on it, imo. Fair dues, those lifts are probably more than a bit scary but that's all that was to the dance really. Wise move by Graz (or HIM as Shirley says 🙄) to include the lifts. She should definitely be next to go.
 
As the celebs came down the stairs I was immediately taken back to Strictly classy/traditional costume days (aside from a couple, will come to that!) Need to watch the dances again but from what I remember:

Annabel - needs more energy, good legs but needed more upper body charleston moves, still adore her!

Zara - nope - stiff and standing and lifts to disguise.

Eddie - apart from that hip movement he just can't dance. I will miss him when he goes, but he needs to go now. Karen's outfit and Wig- ghastly!

Nigel - could have been stunning if not for the stumble, but he owns it without tears (I've been getting vibes from him for Katya, but hopefully just professional dance admiration, and besides I'd be in awe of katya if i had to dance with her 😆)

Adam- dire, dire, dire. Scored for personal story and not "dance". Get rid of couples choice.

Angela S - as noted in Week 1, her upper body she can't do ballroom, spiky, scrunched. Want her to do well, come on Carlos - you can do it!

Layton - wow! Deserved more 10. I also preferred him dancing as a bloke rather than camping up female pro face. Love his and Nikita's coupling, always excited to see their dance

Ellie - amazing! Although I think the toon could have been made more paso-fied. Deserved 10s.

Bobby - ghastly thermal vest, HOWEVER! It showed of his graceful flowy moves. It's the first time I've gotten almost teary over a dance, probably cos the performance was so unexpected.

Krishnan - his counting was distracting and it could have been better, but having not liked him the personality, I adore seeing him. His and Lauren's coupling is perfect.

Angela R - was hard to see in the blackness of the black. She did v well, but it wasn't enough pow for me. I would like her face or her eyes to do some acting, otherwise it freaks me out!

I wouldn’t be surprised if last night was the toughest dance off decision the Judges have to make in the entire series! Neither did a lot of actual dancing, Eddie’s execution was lacklustre and Zara just kept stopping dead, waiting for Graz to pick her up. I thought Eddie had more potential but I don’t think he was ever going to be top six. I do think Karen paid a huge part in his Strictly experience and things may have been different with another pro.

Neither have improved very much imo so I think Zara will go next week, unless more of her SM followers vote for her. I can’t see her knocking anyone out.

And then things will hot up!

Same here. I have been soooo looking forward to it, and I am loving it. I never needed a bit of sparkle and distraction more. I love the threads here, absolutely love them.

Personally, I haven't a blinking clue about dancing so unless they fall over, I won't notice mistakes 😁

There's nobody I dislike but I especially like Nigel and Katya, Layton and Nikita, Ellie and Vito and Krishnan and Lauren.
I want them to be the finalists.
