Yes Katya's millionaire Daddy splashed the cash for Neil. The ballroom and Latin world is quite icky really. I think it's similar with ice skating partnerships.

They were dynamite in the competition world though.

I'd forgotten until Jo Clifton mentioned it on Monday, that she and Giovanni were a partnership at one point.

And then Jill Halfpenny in series 2.

There is literally no way for the BBC to pull together yearly casts of people employed primarily in the entertainment industry and adhere exclusively to a ā€˜never danced beforeā€™ caveat. And nor should they. Who the hell wants to sit through 2.5 hours of 15 duffers plodding around the floor?

The BBC know exactly what works for the show; theyā€™ve got twenty years of audience data to work from, which is why the casting is so formulaic, including the invariable inclusion of those with a dance background.

With fleur what i can't understand is how she was happy to be dressed up nicely as a contestant last year but as soon as she starts presenting can't choose one nice outfit instead we've had weird, baggy and straight jacket looking clothes
What happened there?

Janette seems to have calmed down this year maybe becoming a mum has something to do with it
Although already having lyra "visit" her on set on the first days doesn't bode well for the rest of the series
I think it's possible she went back to work a little too soon.
 
I wish Janette would just give the people time to listen to things. When she announces the music the couple will be dancing to, she immediately starts yakking over it or she cuts off a person halfway through.

I still think Fleur is doing a fine job and thankfully she has some presenting experience. Imagine if they let two complete novices loose - now that would be crap.

Sadly, I think it is cra*p. Such a pity because I used to love the show. I find it unbearable now. :(
