I can't necessarily blame people for being pissed off at their favourite pro getting a dud but I think crying is a bit extreme.

Then again, Digital Spy is NOTHING compared to the reddit page for DWTS in America. Holy moly.
 
I may have a few slightly unpopular opinions.
However, finding Matt Goss very creepy isn't one of them.
But... I actually quite like Richie and I dont think Gio looks uncomfortable at all. He could start to grate down the line but I think he seems really nice.
I actually find Ellie T quite annoying. Her sense of humour is a bit mumsy. And the score reactions were a bit ott.
I really like Ellie S as a person and she did really well but I think she'd be better dancing on her own or with someone of a similar height. It felt a bit awkward seeing Nikita having to stoop over most of the time. I don't think it works.
 
I never understand Motsi's feedback, it's always just nonsensical cliches. You go, girl kinda thing.
She reminds me of this scene in Friends.

Not sure how to feel about Kai with Kaye but I don't think any pairing will have quite the impact that AJ and Kai had on me last year. One of my all time favourite pairings and if/when Kaye goes early he might get the powers that be to get AJ a slot for him and her to do their final dance they would have done had she not been injured.

I also don’t mind Richie, like you said might be different if he’s still there a few weeks down the line. He seems like someone I’d be friends with tbh. And yeah, Nikita’s going to end up with a bad back, but I don’t think she should be made to dance on her own just because of her disability. That’s not to say that’s what you were saying, it’s an idea but I understand that she’d just want to show everyone she can dance like everyone else.

I agree with all your points. Richie is excitable but not annoying me (yet).

I missed Ellie T's segment, I'll rewatch in a bit.

I'm not super excited about Jade, Karen seems a bit wasted on her 😬
I didn't enjoy any of Nicola and Katya's arc from their series, the dances were all too samey and side-by-side. Not recognisable as any of the Strictly dances.
I fear Karen's going to do a lot of dancing around Jade and accidentally/on purpose out-dancing her.

Unpopular opinion - I'm not such a fan of same sex dancing partnerships on Strictly. I don't think the amateur celebs can pull off the choreo to make it look good and it just ends up looking like musical theatre half the time, not ballroom and latin. I think there were one or two of John and Johannes' dances I liked but the rest were meh. Obviously they were very popular with a lot of people!

I don't really love the same sex pro dances either, I don't think most of the current batch of pros are talented enough to execute it well enough.
Jason Gilkinson is a choreographing nightmare! I really, really miss pro Matthew Cutler's choreo, he used to choreo a lot of the Sunday pro numbers in his day along with another pro or two. They were incredible. He sometimes incorporated sections with the guys dancing as a pair/trio/group and it looked fantastic and actually worked.

Could Gio look more awkward when he was standing with Richie, literally you could drive a bus through their gap when they were taking to Claudia!
Agree with everyone r.e poor nikkita and his back…. I can’t envision the ballroom dances… He cant crouch for the entirety surely?
but I do love Ellie and love how she is going for it 100%.
Really enjoyed Will, I like how he is down to earth and doesn’t expect anything so him being decent was a bit of a revelation for me! Want him to go far, even though I can’t really warm to Nancy.
Hamza is just the loveliest - really hope he goes far. James Jordan was saying on Twitter how hamza has had dance training? I can’t imagine it myself tbh, I just thought he was a bit of a natural.

He was very tactile with Rose last year in the post dance interviews...I get that a lot of it was due to how they communicated (plus he was playing up the whole 'flirty friends' things) but in comparison he was miles away from Richie tonight!

It looked to me like Gio had realised his big mistake.
when he said he wanted a same sex partner - he forgot to slot ‘good’ in there.
