They don't hate Katya (though they don't give her good partners either) but they definitely see her as the go to for potential comedy acts, she may have inadvertently typecast herself in that role for doing so well with Ed.

Which is a shame cos she’s an incredible dancer and choreographer.

Fully expecting mummy and daddy Adams tangoes to be total dance disasters, dahling. Looking forward to tonight!
 
I see the Rose/Gio shippers are convinced last night's dance is 'confirmation' they are together. That was.. not my impression, but who knows!

Also obsessed with LadyLav calling Lauren a 'British superstar' in her lament that she was benched. The only people who have heard of her are people who go to Gio's tour! (which, fair enough, is a slice of the SCD audience, but..). As others said, she didn't particularly shine in the intro bit, either in the talking or dancing, but I guess she might pop if she gets a big Sunday night number and/or a Christmas special partner.

I had the same thought. But I feel like she’s going to be one of those contestants who’s great from week one and ends up making the final with no actual chance of winning (like Natalie, Alexandra, Ashley, Maisie etc)

I’ve bet £10 on Will to win and I’m trying to decide who to now use my three free bets on 🤔

I wanted Lauren to get a partner just to see if she lived up to LadyLavender's hype honestly. It was relentless. But surely LL must have known that with 3 female pros benched, Lauren was likely to be one of them? Especially with Jowita being due a promotion and 5 spots being taken up by long term pros who have enough seniority not to be benched.
 
I heard Lauren on Kevin Clifton's podcast a few years ago (a bit of a hate listen 😖), and she came across really well - funny, sharp, knowledgeable - so I was a bit disappointed she just gave bland soundbites last night, but perhaps it was newbie nerves. I am looking forward to seeing her dance though so hopefully she'll get a Christmas partner

Hopefully Michelle will come out of her shell a bit - I thought Luba completely outshone her when they were dancing side by side in the musical number
 
Michelle probably wasn't helped by having Cameron as a partner. I don't think his dancing has improved much, absolutely the right decision that he & Neil are the benched men because we have one of the strongest sets of competing male pros now.

Yeah, personally I would have been quite happy to see Amy or Dianne benched and Lauren given a shot but that was clearly not to be.
I am a bit obsessed with Vito and his bilingual insta stories and potato nose. I hope he can choreograph well and make Fleur 'likeable' enough (bleurgh) to withstand the inevitable criticism she'll get for being too good/too ambitious whatever #alexandraburke

I have never felt so sorry for a Strictly contestant as I did Kaye when she stood at the top of the stairs and gave that appalled rictus grin at the camera. The poor woman looked like she wanted to die, or invent a time machine to go back 4 months and stop her agent telling her Strictly would be a great idea.

First time back on this thread since last series , looking forward to tonight’s show. What a mixed bunch we have this year of pros and celebs.
My initial thoughts were , Fleur is so annoying. The new pro Carlos has the strangest accent, Matt Goss looks so highly strung and on edge, Diane should have been benched and the launch show was far too long with too much filler. I’ve got a tub of heroes at the ready, it’s the rules as Strictly means autumn/Christmas.
