I love Karen and I’m excited to see what she does with Jayde. First same sex partner for her and she’s plus size - this will be a fun and interesting partnership!

Overall I think the lineup is really solid this year and I’m actually excited to watch. So glad the audience is back too!

Will Mellor is ageing like fine wine and his wife is absolutely stunning too. That’s all I’ve got for now 🤪
 
I think Kai found it tough going last year and that’s maybe why he has Kaye - those fires don’t put themselves out you know

I can see what you mean, he does have a similar vibe to Will Young & Robert Webb. Not sure how Matt will handle it long term.

I do feel a bit for Nadiya because after an enjoyable partnership with Dan, I think this will be a fun-free series.

I just think Gio being paired with a man isn't really news this year. We've had the first male same sex pairing regardless of sexual orientation, there's another same sex partnership alongside them and Gio's partner is irritating AF so I don't think producers are favouring him there really.

Isn’t Jayde about 5’8/5’9? I thought Ellie T was the tallest female celebrity this year at 5’10?

I know it’s hard to gauge height here as she’s stood slightly behind Kaye and Jayde has flat shoes on but Kaye is 5’7 and she doesn’t look much taller than her. If she was 6’2 she’d be more in line with Tony or James height wise and she looks a few inches shorter than them. You can see Ellie T is the tallest girl there and is a few inches taller than Jayde

For me it was more that it had been rumoured Gio had asked for a male partner and got one, so it looked like they were favouring him.

But having seen the launch show and a snippet of Richie, I don’t think they’ve find him any favours at all. (I couldn’t sleep last night for wondering how anyone could cope with Richie and Zoe Ball on the same radio show)
 
I didn’t realise Jayde was straight. I love that she’s paired with Karen! And you could see she’s got rhythm too.

I only switch on for Ken Bruce. It always feels like he tolerates rather than likes Richie but that might be me projecting my own feelings 🤣
 
A few more thoughts after re-watching the group dance:

Fleur and Kym are going to take this VERY seriously, going by their facial expressions

Ellie S has natural rhythm so I can't wait to see her dance properly

I assumed Mollie was going to be a bit of a ringer, but she was out of time in her section. Maybe nerves?

Oh I do love Kaye, but had to laugh at her in the background, watching to see when Kai was clapping and trying to keep up, instead of, well, listening to the music and clapping along

Both Will and Tyler have a Rhys kinda energy - good dancers with potential but will their pro teach them technique properly? I suspect Dianne will do a better job on this front

Tony has the potential to be an likeable trier and do an Ed Balls, although will he have the stamina

I think in that pic Jayde is wearing trainers and Ellie T decent heels? So that might account for it.

Agree that Gio and Richie isn’t as bigger deal as it’s been in the past, and I don’t think he’s got the skill or appeal of John. Personally get the sense that Gio and Nadiya will be gritting their teeth for the next few weeks (I say this now, they may go further I guess!) after a great year last year with partners they really clicked with.
