Jackie Woodburne (Susan K) is northern Irish by birth and one of the most recognisable characters alongside Karl.

Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson) a neighbours OG and I’m sure has done panto here a while ago.

The young lad who played Hendrix (Ben Turland) is a reasonable shout. He was due to leave regardless of the show ending so maybe has new work lined up anyway but he’s a talented lad with potential so may be looking at spreading his horizons further than Australia. He also has dance experience which would probably go against him.

The trouble is a lot of the current cast aren’t well known enough here but if the younger ones want to keep working then a move overseas might be wise as Australia does lack options.

I think Stefan Dennis would be the most likely to do it, I think he would be great on the show.

Are Arduino and Jowita a thing? Just saw this on her insta. Seems pretty firm now that her and Michael split a while back but in my head Arduino was with someone? Just looks very date-ish.
If they are that’s very sweet.

We usually do well in the Commonwealth Games (and are doing so again), so perhaps a gymnast?

I had Arduino down as gay, but that was just based on him saying something slightly camp in one of his stories a while back. They would be a sweet couple, but does she know he's an ableist BAFTA-stealer? I hope Jowita gets a partner this year so we can get to know her a bit

Their 'minds' work in very mysterious ways. Why would the publicity of being plastered all over the tabs day after day be 'bad' for his reputation in the run up to the next series? It's not as if he's being outed as a serial killer - he and Nadiya are just being touted as the great romance of Strictly. I suppose it would be 'bad' in the sense that it pretty much knocks on the head any showmances with their celebs this time round, which may save Kai from the hoard of rabid shippers - result!
The funniest is their outrage that a group of pros went to the latest award show to rep SCD and didn't take any celebs from last series (now nearly a year ago!) - ie their beloved AJ - as if they simply don't understand that the pros are under contract to do this sh*t and the celebs from last year most certainly are not.

Bad publicity my foot - if anything, Kai's reputation is getting a massive boost for having such a beautiful, lovely woman in his life.

I just really hope the tabloids won't be setting them up for scandals about cheating with their celebs, but I suspect the rabid cesspit press will do just that.

Some people really do struggle with the idea that SCD is essentially just another profile-raising/coffers-filling gig for 99% of participants.

Sure, the hackneyed trope of ‘friends for life’ ends up being true in a few cases, but everyone who does it is there for the cheque and the publicity. And then it’s on to the next job, maybe with a bit of Strictly-related stuff every now and again.

So many rabid loons see it as some sort of spiritual cult whereby they all live in one giant big house that you can never leave and they all socialise exclusively with other ex-SCDers. 🙄


They get hired, they get paid, they get their face in the papers, they move on. 🤷‍♀️
 
As had been pointed out before … the first series wrote the script for this sort of thing … only messier.

That alleged romance managed to break an engagement and a professional dance partnership and all that really happened was that Brendan coasted on his popularity for years and Camilla got to dance with Ian Waite and a couple of series later had the most half hearted showmance in Strictly history with James Martin.

That Kai has somehow ruined his reputation by not dating someone is a mystery. Also, how they think the general Strictly watcher, who puts it away for next year with the Christmas decorations will remember is another thing. They can probably barely remember AJ, Let alone who she was partnered with.
 
Am waiting with baited breath for the Celebs reveal, had a look back on insta and the first 3 celeb reveals last year was August 4th on The One Show … which is off air until August 22nd this year 🫣 they won’t keep us hanging on that long will they? please no🙏
 
I think it's the shippers being convinced that everyone else was as fixated on the AJ/Kai 'romance' as they were, and that therefore he will be seen as a heartless cad by the public. But the reality is that nobody was that invested, and definitely nobody cares now.
It's the same logic the Rose/Gio shippers are using: saying that Gio needs to 'publicly' address the rumour (that they started) that he is seeing one of his dancers, lest Rose's reputation get tarnished. Meanwhile the Great British Public is like.. who??

I too have assumed he was gay, but idk 🤷‍♀️. My gaydar's a little wonky, it seems. My jaw hit the floor when I found out Aljaz was married to Janette! 😂

I'd be pretty surprised if Jowita didn't get a partner, I have a feeling she'll end up being one of the 'higher-tier' pros that always gets a partner moving forward, well unless she makes a hash of her first year anyway. Fingers crossed for her to be good, she seems adorable, and I thought she managed well with Adrian Chiles being too tall for her.

I really liked Artem, though I think he is no longer in the pro line-up. I can’t remember who he was paired with, but I remember he seemed like a good and patient teacher who had great choreography ideas.

Ah, thanks! I think the last series I watched was when Shirley Ballas started judging. I have followed bits and pieces, like Joe Sugg being on it, and a hard of hearing/deaf contestant being on it too, oh, and Jon Waite who was partnered with a male celeb…
