Let's just say that I would've been more surprised if Hamza didn't win, judging by his exponentially growing fanbase on the show. Personally, he was consistent and gave solid performances, but few of his dances wowed me. His personality was certainly an impetus for his victory.

Overall, I wouldn't have minded who won. I was just pleased that Will wasn't amongst the finalists 😄

same. i mean, fleur was obviously the best on the night but likeability always wins this show and hamza is just a likeable person. i would have been happy with any one of them winning too tbh.

i do feel for gorka and i’m not gonna judge him for not slapping a game face on immediately. did he come across as mardy? maybe. but i also think it’s so hard for a female celeb to win this show because of the impossible standards the public put on them. which then makes it tricky for a male pro. in his heart, i think he knew helen was his chance and it disappeared. given that a bunch of the other men went straight to him in the final huddle i think they all got it.

the image of jowita being held joyously aloft while a little group of male pros consoled gorka in the background was like a renaissance painting though.

He was absolutely awful with Anneka. Did you see the atrocious Star Wars Charleston he did with Kellie? Or the abomination of a showdance he inflicted on an unsuspecting public, with that Dooley creature staggering about like a drunken auntie?
I think he was awful. People complain about Johannes overdancing, but Kevin gurning his head off with his knees up to his chin took outshining his partner to another level. And his ridiculous behaviour when he finally won the glitterball?
Cannot bloody stand him. ☺️

i wasn’t a stacey fan but the way they acted like kevin was being handed the glitterball completely by himself makes me mad to this day.

he honestly had one of the most blessed runs of celebs ever on this show. and the one time he had a slightly less gifted celeb (anneka) he didn’t even try.

will never judge gorka for being moody because the fact that stacey and kevin beat faye and gio AND ashley and pasha still makes me rage.
 
Why even bother mentioning Jowita and Hamza? 😂

I think in series 3 the powers that be were so concerned a male celeb was never going to win that they went so overboard about how had it was for men, that we are still reaping the benefits

Also, since they've become popular, Gorka's turned into some blubbering wreck [still cringe at his ITT appearances during his Maisie partnership where every other word was 'Gemma'], while Gemma's been ensuring she's on every conceivable news article and mag programme going [remember her being on Steph's Packed Lunch during same partnership when she was analysing Maisie and giving advice on what she should wear for her dances—that was a 'WTF?' moment].

You’d have thought Gemma would’ve made some effort with her appearance tonight. Looked like she’d just popped in after soft play with Mia.

Vito & Fleur can console themselves that they were top of the leaderboard tonight & that the professional judges thought they were the best.

Delighted for Hamza.

show has never recovered from that. was it darren gough that len went mad over? a man! stepping out of the pub and onto the dance floor! he’s never even clicked his fingers in time before! amazing!

i know we’ve talked about it loads here but a female contestant has to be a unique and contradictory set of qualities to do well on this show. they’re rare. i think gorka knew he had one in helen and so the disappointment must be major.

i love hamza but he was the weakest one in the final. he just had so much good feeling already that it carried him through.
 
I don’t think Helen is at all bothered not to win, she has had a great experience and rounded off a horrible year nicely. Hamza is so nice, it was always going to be him, the other two didn’t stand a chance although they both danced better this evening. I think Hamza had stalled, but his couples choice still one of the best dances of the series.
