I do think this year has tarnished his brand slightly. A couple of people at work who liked him from last year have completely gone off him this. The feeling was he couldn’t let last year go and didn’t give Ritchie the Strictly he deserved (and these are people who don’t ‘do’ the Strictly social media).

Gio is a show off. That’s always been his personality. I think it’s just turned materialistic with the fake Rolex’s and over done suits. Hanging at Annabel’s and other high end private clubs. Doing ads pretending to be a zumba teacher or pretending to cook for hello fresh. Gio is a grown man who definitely has control of his image. He has never been the naive man changed by Rose or Ranvir. He knows how to sell himself. He won the Glitterball
 
Yeah honestly I think the sleeze ball is the real him from what I have heard. I mentioned before a woman I know socially dated him and he really kicked her confidence when it was already down. She didn't date anyone for a long time after him. The kind of man that makes you DONE with men 😆
 
He does seem to be obsessed with last year's win - I saw on one of the FB groups that he posted a video from his flat and he has various collages of him and Rose up in pride of place, as well as fan art of the two of them. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but it is totally different from his previous reactions to partnerships, and it seems he couldn't let that go this year. Now no matter what he does I will always think 'but he didn't post for Richie!'

From observing his SM actions etc he seems to be a real love bomber and then definitely with Ashley, Maura, and I think Georgia, he dropped them very suddenly. Maybe just gets bored, but probably a real headfuck after all the adoration..

Exactly it. This woman, gorgeous, but was in a really emotionally abusive relationship when she met him. As soon as that relationship ended he was sending her flowers, calling her a princessa and talking about moving in together like weeks in,.really doing the whole "I'll give you everything that prick couldn't" and I'm not sure exactly what went on but the impression I got was that he was like ice cold of all a sudden, remarking on her clothes and her body etc, not spending time with her and everything. Pushing her away but in a pretty vicious way.

I think I was more referencing his marketed image than who he actually is- he pays a PR agency to make him as broadly marketable (and therefore successful at selling stuff) as possible. So it’s a bit mad that they don’t seem to be advising him that all of that stuff isn’t greatly popular with his target market (when probably that image fit better when he first came on the show and was younger). It kind of doesn’t matter who he actually is, good marketing will make you into who you need to be. He pays for their expertise and advice after all.
 
Agree totally with the comments on Gio. He can teach and choreograph but I never cared for his personality, found his overall vibe a bit slimy and didn’t understand the hype from his devoted fans. There are far nicer male pros in the current cast and in the past who were also good with the celebs.

Glad he got his win so he hopefully will either move on or get non contenders for the foreseeable. He was good with Rose TBF but so would most pros, she was a dream partner in every way.

Richie wasn’t my cup of tea personally and you maybe can’t forge chemistry when it doesn’t exist but not putting up a post thanking your celeb when you leave makes you look like an hole. He isn’t a new pro or totally inexperienced with social media so no excuse.
 
The eighteen-inch height difference between Janette and Rylan when they are standing next to each other on ITT is just hilarious. Even funnier when he picked her up and spun her, she was about to get flung into next week.

(Still maintain it's a damn shame Rylan never did Strictly before becoming ITT presenter.)
