So now we know the songs for the showdances, are we going to get a full series of no barefoot dancing 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

It really has been a funny series! I too thought Will would be a light hearted cheeky chappy, I thought Jayde would be good based on her dancing at one of her gigs, I thought Katya would struggle to make a proper dancer out of Tony, I thought Hamza would be eliminated early, I thought Kym would be aloof and I thought nobody could be as annoying as Tom Fletcher. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this year!

BIB - I have too.
And one of the reasons I have particularly enjoyed it was because of the threads here. 😁

Who would have thought Will finally exiting would cause the biggest shitstorm on Social Media and unite trolls en masse in calling it fixed and directing hate at contestants?
I only know him as Mardy from here :ROFLMAO:
Had no idea he was such a big deal with an enormous following...
Tbf to Mardy, I’m sure he’d be appalled if he knew what people were posting. He’s just an honest sexy dad. Fleur’s sister took this pic of the two of them after the DO..

(BTW if anyone missed ITT the AT choreographers Leandro and Maria did a performance at the end. They were amazing!)

I think Will was liked well enough by his fellow cast members, Molly thanked him for looking after her and he did look very happy with everyone in Blackpool. Think he's just a gruff mardypants who hasn't had to face a lot of criticism in his life.

Jayde loves to be angry. It's not the first time she's been outspoken and come across as sour faced since being eliminated early.

I've just read about this. What is the matter with this woman, perhaps she does it to get noticed because she wasn't noticed during the show!!

With Karen not appearing to be that friendly with her, perhaps her true colours have emerged. Karen did well to put up with her as long as she did.

As for all the escapades Helen has done which she mentioned, they were all part of her job as presenter of Blue Peter and probably about 20 years ago when she was just out of her teenage years. It becomes rather dioferent for a mum approacching age 40 with three very young children. Jayde has no heart whatsoever, be interesting to see the body language on Saturday.

That's possible. I think it's easy to forget what an emotional journey learning a new skill, especially an expressive one, in such an intense way where you're exposed every week is.
Definitely, I mean everyone in the semi-final was just gone by the time they spoke with Tess or Claudia on the Results show: Nancy was in bits, Carlos was in tears and even Hamza -who has kept on an even keel all series- got choked up. It's a very intense show these days!

And I think Will is perhaps not used to being himself on reality TV either. If you look at his Wiki entry there's actually very little in the way of the "guest appearance on Pointless, Celeb Big Brother, The Wheel, Taskmaster etc, etc." that a lot of the other celebs have these days, especially when you consider he's been acting for over 30 years. Sure he's done a few episodes of Celeb Juice with his mates, done promos on Lorraine/The One Show over the last decade, but I don't think he's had to be purely himself in front of an audience of 8 million for a sustained period of time.

Given that he appears to be quite an intense personality, I think he was trying almost to act his way through Strictly as "Character Actor, Will Mellor, On A Journey". Always looking over his own shoulder, wondering how he's coming across, trying to emote in the way he's watched others show emotion on Strictly. I don't think he was doing it consciously, but I think that's why he was increasingly stressed and abrupt, because he couldn't settle into the whole thing as naturally as others have done, and couldn't figure out why.

He was always so aware of how he was supposed to come across, that in reality he ended up coming across rather poorly at times, and that's a real shame for him.

If that photo highlights anything, it’s how tit the costumes are now. I genuinely thought they were just in their civvies until I realised Will was wearing his CC waistcoat.

There must be an element of if I say no, will I get the chance again, though.

I was thinking the same thing.

I think that's just how he is tbh, but it's a good point about all the emotion, having lost a parent and so forth.
It possibly did make everything that bit more intense.

I thought overall, as a group, they genuinely did and do seem to get on well.

Apart from Jayde - well okay, maybe she got on well with them, I don't know

I feel like Ore was the first big cryer and that opened the floodgates and now they’re all at it and the ones who don’t want to cry and over share feel obliged to, are probably pushed to. It’s a choice from the producers I imagine because they feel it makes it real but it’s the opposite for us watching from home. It’s cringe and I wish they didn’t do it. I stopped watching X factor cos of the formula sob story. Just want a entertaining and optimistic couple of hours of a Saturday night. I have really enjoyed watching Fleur and Molly and think they’re both great examples of getting on with it and embracing the show and giving it their all. I think they are probably the first two to be out on Saturday but am really glad they got to the final.

i go back and forth on the crying tbh!

completely genuine displays of emotion (like carlos and vito over the weekend) are lovely and come across as completely from the heart.

ore definitely started the squeeze out a tear moment though and i will always blame him for it 🤣 when you can see someone almost ordering themselves to produce tears it just gives me the ick and it absolutely comes across as cringe.
