Helen’s ex is clearly a shitgibbon of the first order. But I think she knows that already. I don’t know if we need to. Wouldn’t she rather win based on her personality and her dancing? And Gorka obviously.

i do think, to be fair to helen, she has never played that sob story in a way that many other celebs would. the one time gorka has tried to bring it up she was obviously mortified and tried to downplay it.

it’s hard because obviously WE all know what’s gone on and so we assign that narrative to her, like the judges have and the conversations tess and claudia try to get her into. but i give her credit for how she’s always tried to side step it.

I think emotions must have been running very high in the auditorium after Helens' dance, not just with her and Gorka, but amongst all of them. They've all been working in such close quarters with each other for 3 months now, they all know each other and their backgrounds/issues/problems very well and I think they might all have been hoping that Helen really scored A Moment with that dance.

Will -who does seem to live on his nerves to a degree- was obviously feeling it a lot and had to express it physically, I think.

(I also think Hamza and Jowita probably had to sneak off and be given a warm blanket and cup of cocoa each after Gorka scared the living daylights out of them by crawling towards them. Go back and look at that moment, Jowita has scrambled onto the sofa with her hackles up and Hamza doesn't know what to do with himself, I was crying with laughter)

I know what you mean about Will, I’ve worked with men like him. Harmless when you know them but completely creepy when you don’t know them that well 🤣

I don’t think he’s ever had a contestant he’s got on with so well, she seems to be making friends with Gemma and their daughter as well.

I gave 2 votes for Helen as my fav and 1 to Molly because the ties mean she could have a rough time.

I think it will end up being a lot closer than we thought but I still think Hamza has it in the bag. They both have favorable dances for next week and it could all come down to what they perform in the final. Helen won’t repeat this dance in the final and probably not her quickstep either which leaves her with less crowd pleasing dances to pick from, whereas if Hamza decided to do his salsa again I think that could win it for him? I also think Jowita would have one hell of a showdance up her sleeve. Very rarely will the clear favourite lose support this late in the game especially, I wasn’t overly impressed with Kelvin from Blackpool onwards and he still won (still fuming).

Confession time again….I enjoyed it being at 8pm on a Friday! I won’t be saying that tomorrow night though.

I think that was the best Quarter Final I’ve seen, it’s crazy that they’re all so close in terms of ability. Looking forward to catching up on the comments. My musings:

Molly and Carlos
Loved her dress! Up there with the ‘old school’ Charlestons of Georgia May Foote and Gio or Sophie Ellis Bextor and Brendan. It was difficult to set her apart from the Pros but I thought she would be sharper. Carlos 😢

Hamza and Jowita
Hmmm. It was better than I worried it would be, but I think this will be the real test of his vote. Watching Joe and Katya earlier reminded me that Sambas don’t have to be fast paced…but I don’t know. Jowita seemed a bit subdued so I don’t know if something had gone wrong?

Kym and Graziano
Her solo stuff is always good and I agree with what Anton said on ITT that Graziano’s choreography has come on so far. I always feel she’s a bit undermarked but her score was probably fair going by the standard. You wouldn’t have thought she had COVID last week, I’ve had the cold and I’m pretty much sleeping in an oxygen tent.

Will and Nancy
Blah blah blah I’m emotional blah blah blah family blah blah blah…I’ve fully accepted that the fact he makes me want to punch myself in the face has closed off a part of my brain that would allow me to see what the Judges see. He’s cheese central and fake goddammit! Top of the leaderboard again 😩

Helen and Gorka
Has Gorka had some sort of breakdown 😂. There’s no way the dog thing was not intentional! Loved the mouser, it looked like he’d left it on from Movember! But there she is, THAT’S THE HELEN I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!! Best Couple’s Choice ever. I’m so annoyed at Craig, that was ridiculous! No rules in CC so how did he know she didn’t mean it to look like what he saw? Big duck you to every cheating husband out there!

Fleur and Vito
Like Molly, it was really hard to tell she wasn’t a Pro. I’m a bit indifferent about Quicksteps but I enjoyed it. You can really see the difference in her ballroom even from the last time she had one and I didn’t see any mistakes. Loved her dress. I hope she’s not in the dance off.

I think Kym will be in the dance off (unless neutrals vote for her for pulling that off after illness) but who with I really don’t know. Half have been in the dance off, half haven’t. It could be Hamza tonight? The Judges have a tough time sending anyone home and if it’s down to Shirley then some could fare better than others 🤷🏻‍♀️
