For the first time, didn't really enjoy any of them this week. Don't know how much the day less rehearsal/prep time had to do with it, but my overwhelming reaction is meh. The backing dancers were especially dire. Most just pointless and in the way, even worse than Blackpool.

Will - I can't be the only one who thinks his posture isn't right??? How the duck did he get 10s? Top of the leaderboard??? Are the judges on crack?

Helen - Hoped it would be better than it was. It wasn't bad, but I didn't really like most of the choreography, and she really can't sell the performance very well. Her attempts at being sexy were just painful. It sucks about her husband but I'm starting to get annoyed she's still here. She's only had 1, maybe 2 dances where Gorka's arse wasn't the only thing stopping me from falling asleep.

Molly - I really hoped it would be better. The choreography was a mess, IMO, and a huge mistake to have her start alongside Lauren. What idiot came up with that? I was really hoping it would be a 'wow' moment and a perfect score. I get the feeling the repeated dance offs have dented her confidence. :(

Hamza - Weird song, even weirder costumes, which distracted from the dance, and probably hampered his movement somewhat. Still thought the dance itself was pretty good, though sadly not as good as I was hoping. Probably largely due to the stupid costumes.

Kym - Probably the best of the night for me, shame she's got basically no chance.

Fleur - Ugh at all the faffing. duck off useless backing dancers. It was probably fine but I still didn't really like it and I've already forgotten it.

I'd have just about reversed the leaderboard, switched Kym and Hamza with Will and Helen. Don't know what the judges were seeing. Found pretty much everything at least a bit disappointing, except Kym who was a bit better than I thought she might be, seeing as I didn't like her Samba. At least they have an extra day for the two dances next week.

Just about every costume wanted incinerating too.
Completely agree re Will. When it started I thought ooh this might be good then noticed his posture especially from one angle was all off and thought nope, so I was surprised at the scores.

Molly and Fleur are gorgeous and both look amazing whatever look they are given. Totally sickening

Fleur looked beautiful last night and not one movement she made was "manly". It's unfair to see knives are still out for her, especially now Helen didn't get 40 for her CC (or quickstep, so Helen fans are using this to ride the "We Hate Fleur" train even harder). As for "aggressive", I'm sick of seeing that word related to women of colour.

Also, I'm gonna say it - Molly and Fleur are both better dancers than Helen.

Im a bit biased because I’m a massive fan of Gorka’s arse, but even I think that was a bit tacky.
I actually think that despite the outfit and the crawling across the floor, Gorka did make last night’s routine all about Helen rather than himself. For most of the routine he was behind her, next to her, or underneath her ( the lucky cow ).
I think the way he’s partnered Helen has been spot on - the difference between the first couple of weeks and last night’s dance is huge, and I do think that a lot of that is because of Gorka.

Yep, nobody was even watching Gorka in the dance, it was all about Helen.

I do get why he invokes rage in some posters, but look he has been with Helen through possibly the worst ever time in her life. He (and Gemma from the looks of things) have been supporting her, trying to not only teach Helen to dance, but literally put one foot in front of the other whilst her ex continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. He's the one hugging her, drying her tears in the studio, helping her through this bleeping awful time, telling her she is amazing, that she can do anything. Looking after her, simple things like bringing her breakfast each morning.

And Helen comes out and dances like that. Gorka really does deserve a bit more credit than people just getting pissed off at his arse antics - that he can produce something like what we saw last night from someone who was/is at rock bottom emotionally.

Having been through a relationship break up like Helens, I know exactly what will have been going on behind the scenes, and I would have appreciated someone like Gorka having my back, wiping my nose and just being there.

I think the impact of Helen's dance comes from the fact it was so outside of her comfort zone and that itself it what made it something very special

To say Kym would have performed it better seems to miss the point a bit - yes, Kym probably would have acted it better because she is a professional actress, but that would have made it much less of a surprise and an accomplishment (not to mention apart from her AT and rumba, Kym has underperformed a bit this series, but anyway...)

Re Gorka's bum controversy. He didn't need to do it but it's hardly the crime of the century and I couldn't care less 😜. And Nikita can whip off his shirt to jokingly try and save Tilly in a DO and it's iconic 🤷 (which it is btw)

Gorka's put Helen front and centre the whole series and done a brilliant job

I think those of us saying Gorka is making it about himself aren't referring to his choreo or support, which have been great. It's about the way he acts in interviews, in the clauditorium or with the judges. When he brought up her personal life after the paso, for example - it should have been her choice to bring that up. Then all the appeals with his chest or arse or the cringey crawling really rip the attention from Helen and if I was her, it would make me feel like he thinks he needs to bleep himself out for the votes because I'm not good enough.

I think it's naff and unnecessary.

Anyway, I'm seeing "journey" being thrown around a lot in comments about Helen now so she will probably win.

Yes I agree. When the song choices came up, no one could see Helen doing that. It was a complete surprise. I agree about Gorka too. In some of the dances ( Will and Nancy, and sometimes Jowita and Hamza) you can't stop watching the pros, but that was all Helen with Gorka basically being a prop, despite his antics outside of the dance.

Helen is boring. I didn't enjoy her CC at all.

One thing I don’t agree with is people saying only Helen has had a journey on the show. Yes she’s been through a crappy time and it’s amazing to see her confidence grow, but for me personally I have preferred watching the journey’s of Hamza and Kym.

But apart from that it was great, right??! :D As somebody else said (@Fillyjonk) I think, Kym would have really sold that CC in a different way. Shame. Also rewatching Molly, she had a weird facial expression throughout, what was that?

I see DS are having their usual normal one - apparently Fleur was 'aggressive' and 'manly', even when dressed in 1950s dress with a victory roll! I see you.
I'm so mad on Fleur's behalf. And I think she knows that whatever she does, she will just never fit some people's preconceived notions of whatever X trait is 'supposed' to look like, and that must be so demoralising.
All credit to her (and Vito) for still giving it everything every week

I think Hamza is the only one who genuinely has no dance experience (unless you count the odd ceilidh). The way he's grown in confidence, lost so much weight and come out of himself as a performer is amazing.

Kym really overcame her nerves and Hamza's grown in confidence every week!

I enjoyed all of the performances last night, and thought they all acquitted themselves really well.

I'm sure people are voting for Helen because of her ex. There's nothing wrong with empathy and there's nothing wrong with wanting to give someone a boost when they're going through hard times. I wish more people were like this in life.

It should be all about the dancing (what with it being a dance competition). But humans are not that cut and dry (except possibly Craig).

Hamza is not producing standout dances in my opinion, but I know people will be voting for him because he's a lovely man, rather than his dance ability.

I think they have been done badly by the double booking of casting slots this year. A lot of the slots have been bunked up (James/Will relatable dad, Helen/Kym doing it for the pelvic floor, Tony/Matt hopeful trier … Molly and a Fleur get the previous training/experience tag) so they are competing for the same votes and are good enough to take out just about everyone else … one is in the dance off one week … gets all the votes the next so they other is in the dance off … who get the votes the next week so the other is in the dance off … who gets the votes the next week. Rinse and repeat.

I pick and choose my battles about Fleur on DS. People just seem to not like her whatever she does.
Fleur and Vito have done well to keep on coming back strongly.

Without giving away any spoilers, which 2 dances do we think the 6 remaining couples would repeat in the final?
