He’s not a regular, he’s only made sporadic appearances. His appearance on yesterday’s episode was his first for a few weeks.

I didn’t realise he was even in Corrie!:eek:
Is he there on a permanent basis or there as a guest role? Will he be bumped up to a regular role?

That sounds really shady, sorry Janette, but good autocue reading and interviewing is something of an accquired skill. Rylan can do it, he can switch seamlessly from doing the autocue to pre-written questions to riffing with the interviewee easily enough, he's been doing it for years.

Janette sticks very rigidly to the script, even if there are situations where she should drop the questions list and allow her interviewee time to breathe and maybe say something interesting and spontaneous. I'm thinking of Molly last week, where she and Carlos said something that answered the next question on the pre-written script, and Janette just ploughed on with the question anyway, so the poor pair were left repeating themselves over again. That's the sort of thing that'll come easier with experience, I suppose, if she stays on ITT as presenter.

Maybe she went to the tessbot presenter school of training

I don't enjoy watching Dianne. I find her personality very forced and childish - she does that annoying thing of pretending to be stupid, which does women no favours at all. You also can't force quirky: you either are or you're not and she's not. Both her dancing as a pro and her choreography don't do anything for me, so coupled with feeling she's not being entirely authentic, I can't say I'll miss her when she leaves.

Also, I'm not the poster who doesn't like her because of her hair but I do agree that the tacky red should be banished back to the 2010 from whence it came.

Agree with all of this. Also, sometimes you just can’t take to certain people for whatever reason and as long as you’re not being overtly hateful, I can’t see an issue. I don’t see many people jumping to defend Neil or Kevin’s honour and a lot worse has been said about them.

There has been the slightest whiff of DS vibes on this thread now and again; I just hope it doesn’t descend into full on fanwarz cos who could be arsed 😂

Ah not a long stint then.

He didn’t strike me a soap actor but I guess if that’s what going for him then so be it. I’m guessing hes doing a Kelvin Fletcher and hoping to land more acting role after this.
 
Dianne isn’t my favourite but equally I can’t say I dislike her either. However having watched the show she was a part of earlier this year called Freeze the Fear, she seems to struggle with her mental health and severe doubts quite a bit, that explains her OTT personality being like a mask to me. She’s also battled an ED before so that probably impacts her more than she lets on too.

I wonder if that poor girl thinks he’s more famous than he actually is? Being Neil de Jaunse’s gf is not gonna get you the brand deals you’re hoping for

I think Love Island ‘Star’ would be a very generous description. She managed maybe a week? 10 days at a push.

Honestly, I've never gotten the impression her stupidity is an act. 😂

I can't remember what it was now, I think I've deleted it from my brain out of embarrassment, but I remember her not having an answer to something so incredibly basic on celebrity Pointless that I was truly shocked. Not that I think any of them are much different, they all seem to know very little outside of dance. Painful to watch on quiz shows, the lot of them. Saw Craig on House of Games a while ago, he was so hopeless it made me want to crawl under my couch.

The sole exception I've seen is Anton appearing on A Question Of Sport last year. You could see the looks he was getting, a sort of "what's this silly ponce doing on a sports trivia quiz show?" and he was in full "ha-ha marvellous, what's a football, darlings?" luvvie mode, and my old dad was getting revved up to hate him

And then he wiped the floor with everyone. To the point where I think he started holding himself back so his win wasn't so embarassing for the sports professionals he was up against. It was great.
