So I have finally watched my babies Fleur and Vito in their apparently polarising (going by DS) CC. Loved how Vito stepped back and was 'the Michelle', allowing her to shine. As he said a few weeks ago, you shouldn't try to turn a lion into a lamb. Fleur's mum is an icon too. The theatre around Craig's 10 is annoying but I can't object to it as she should have had it last week.

I'm glad she got to do a couple's choice that was actually the couple's choice. Poor Molly. If they're going to insist on keeping it they at least need to be fair. Michelle gets slated for vogue (why you always add the ing) but that was what she wanted to do and fair play for it.

The wheel of fortune idea was much better though 😅.

Thank the Lords that I wasn't the only one who didn't like Fleur's dance! I found her body to be stiff and humpy, her shoulders far too raised throughout and she stomped out each step - it felt like a bad Beyonce tribute act or something. It just wasn't for me at all.

So I KNEW it was gonna get 40 🙄

Also were the camera crew pissed tonight? What was going on? The shots were all over the shop. The point of Johannes and his boys 'faffin abaht' was so that we weren't supposed to see Ellie clicking herself into her safety harness, yet we were treated to a full frontal. On that note, couldn't they have made it match her dress, and not look like an old seat belt from an Aston Martin?

I know I'm always rabbiting on about Hamza, but give me a classic American Smooth foxtrot in tails and a proper ballroom gown to New York New York ANY DAY. That made me happy, and would have got ALL my votes had I been able to vote this week.
 
I’m not overly surprised about Tyler tbh. I feel ever since he got his 10s he’s been quite average and the basic techniques have been lacking from him which have affected his dances. Him and diannes partnership was ok but there was no chemistry there. I also feel she out danced him in a few of the dances they did which made it look quite jarring. I don’t know where he would have gone had he stayed in. While there on paper may be weaker dancers, although really only Ellie as I think Kym is really bringing it now, they are progressing or building up. I think he probably got 10s too early. He did seem like a nice guy though and I liked him.

I never quite "get" all the Blackpool hype but the ballroom itself is undeniably gorgeous and the atmosphere was fantastic.
Motsi looked fabulous, working that storage basket hairdo!
My mum says she had a raincoat like the ones in the pro dance back in the 1950s when she was a babby.
Hamza danced beautifully and Jowita looked lovely. Lacked a bit of wow-factor and he is certainly pigeon-toed but still a nice dance.
I'm not a Beyoncé fan at all, not a particular DC fan, and not really a Fleur fan either but I fecking loved that performance! The power, the control, the balance stuff, the low-key partnering style of Vito - I thought it was so well done. I didn't see a single mistake so I was happy to see Craig dislodge his 10 paddle from wherever he keeps it 😬
Helen did fantastic too. Awful costumes but they worked well in motion. She is well on the way to unclenching and actually enjoying herself.
Poor Kym did phenomenally well with the crappy cards she was dealt - shocking song and meh costumes, and no cape! Her armography (😏) was really impressive - she deserved a cape dammit!
Tyler did well. I just don't trust him in the lifts - they never quite come off for me as they don't flow, always seeming to begin mechanically after a noticeable pause, so they become a bit clunky and uncomfortable to watch. I felt he was a bit overmarked but fair play, better than other weeks.
Mardy Mellor does nothing for me. He danced well but again I felt he was overmarked.
Molly back in her Barbie outfit again - it was grand, nothing exceptional for me. Her expression while dancing confuses me a bit.
Ellie danced well. She has a great ballroom frame and an elegant build. Her costume, hair and makeup were lovely. I could've done without the bleeping about with the chair and the underwhelming attempt at flying - would've worked better if she had descended to the stage/dancefloor at the beginning of the dance, no?

Last night’s show was weird! I think the nerves got to a lot of them - no wonder, its a huge deal especially after the last couple of years.

I think Kim was let down by the music choice and the additional dancers took the focus off her. I think Molly was let down by the choreography - I guess there’s a fine line between being technically able and overestimating their capabilities. And Will, those dad hips had been safely locked away from week 1 😬. Loved his shoes though.

Theres not an ounce of hate in me when I say I think Fleur was overmarked. A lot of people are in CC. What I don’t get is why Craig knocked a point off Helen for her frame dropping in a jam-packed QS that was dance from start to finish when Fleur was clunky in places which made the dance look a bit stoppy-starty to me.

I’m sorry Molly was in the DO again, it must be so tough knowing you’re not popular. I don’t think it’ll be her last one either, however she could pretty much knock out any of the others. Shirley did the right thing by the sounds of it, although she seemed more pished last night than normal so she maybe got confused 😂

I don’t mind Fleur as a personality on the show and she’s obviously a good dancer, but after seeing her VT about the X Factor and seeing the other reality TV she’s done in the pursuit of fame, I commented to my husband that if it was still running she would 100% be braving The Jump and possibly breaking every bone in her body 😆
 
Will ffwd and watch the dances again to catch anything i missed live, but I already know that I missed Tony.
I am absolutely fine with him being out, but could have done with Tony and Katya's energetic, charismatic presence on Blackpool (sprung) dance floor.

Kym finally smiled in a VT and since last week she's been more personable (& much more relaxed on ITT)

Fleur - I don't mind her sob story on couples choice because that's what crappy couples choice is, something personal.
But outside of CC, no more celeb personal stories/homages/dedications/celebrations.
(I'd like the CC to simply be about a celeb chosing their fave song to dance to, but must do it ballroom or Latin dance, not freestyle).

I'm still disappointed at Craig, getting the 10 out for Fleur. And I'm very cross at his Tyler remark- just cruelly out of place and unnecessary.

Shirley is extremely inappropriate with her comments to Tyler and Will, eyes moving down and leering at their crotch area whilst discussing every part of their body moving or pulsating or wiggling. It's sleazy.

The only good thing about Blackpool was the visual change of scene from the usual studio.
 
A lesson to producers - if you want a celeb and/or their pro to *happen*, maybe don't be so obvious about it next time. The crazy overmarking too early in the competition, the weird order of his dances... But I don't think him and Dianne were a great match anyway (mostly because of height) and I'm surprised how poor some of her choreography has been (the jive was probably the best but really meh ballroom)

The salsa was ok but a bit clunky and more disco than salsa, plus the afro of doom! Not only cursed but also made him look twice the size of everyone else on the dancefloor

Feel a bit sorry for Molly as it must feel awful being in the bottom two so often. I don't think she nailed the technique but probably not helped by another twee theme

As superfan does she say anything positive about SCD now or she only ever supporting comments mentioning herself and strictly?
