I hope we don't get a repeat of Dev-gate though if Tyler does go home, that was uncomfortable to watch.

Cameras should have panned away from the sobfest. Amy was like

I've been thinking Ellie's at risk nearly every week and she's proved me wrong so far, but just going on song and dance, I'm not sure this week - doing an AS on the same show as Hamz's AS to a song that's not quite as *big* as New York New York isn't going to work in her favour

I really like Ellie but I’m at the point that she’s had a great experience and a run beyond expectations so if she goes out now I won’t be cross/sad. But I agree, could go either way.

A Salsa not choreographed by Dianne, with lots of lifts and extra dancers, could be flashy enough to save Tyler, but a Salsa has opened the last two Blackpool shows, and Craig usually starts a bit low with his marks before building up to giving his first 10 (he's so predictable). Remember when he gave Stacey's Salsa a 7 and Kevin had a mardy face to rival Will's for the rest of the show? 😆
Will will be fine I think, he's back to wiggling his hips, and that tends to make the ladies on the FB groups swoon.
Blackpool feels like a good end point for Ellie, but she seems to be popular.
Not sure about Fleur, need to see her CC first.
Kym's music is not great, annoying when she could have done a really good traditional Paso.
Molly could get the first 40.
I'm expecting Helen's Quickstep to be very good.
Hamza has the best music for Blackpool, I hope he'll be in tails.

If Kym has a bad or sub-par week I could see her being in the dance off, basically the same with Molly and Fleur. As I said before, I think a lot rides on everyone else this week e.g. a couple of show stoppers and everyone else is potentially at risk and vice versa, a couple of duds and Ellie/Tyler could be safe.

Thinking back to the start of the series, who do you reckon the producers thought/wanted to be the final 4?

The two that I'm fairly sure they wanted in the final at the start are Tyler (their intended winner just going off the slightly desperate overmarking) and Jayde (I reckon they thought she was going to be way better/more popular than she turned out to be and perhaps wanted to give Karen a decent run)

Helen was a very last minute booking but I think they saw a lot of 'journey' potential there once she'd signed up, and possibly they had Fleur or Molly down as the female ringer finalist?

i don't think they ever thought Hamza was a potential winner never mind finalist, otherwise they would have been desperate to partner him with Dianne to give her a shot

I saw somewhere on the DS that Will probably would have been with Dianne and Tyler would have been with Nancy but because she had the youngish black man last yesterday it would have been too similar to give her the same again this year.

I think anyone apart from Hamza is up for the dance off; Ellie only missed the DO by the skin of her teeth last week so I would say she is a candidate, I think the other slot will be either Molly, Tyler, Kym or Fleur.

"The youngish black man" - Jesus Christ

I don't think race is anything to do with it but Rhys & Tyler probably are too similar for a pro to get in their first two seasons. Sometimes pros get similar celebs back to back but when the pro is relatively new, its better to switch up the type of celebs they get so we can see a different side of them.

After all, Dianne went from Rev. Richard to Joe in her first two, about as opposite as you can get.

I think giving Will to Nancy has been a great opportunity for her to show her calmer side - I know her and Rhys were a bit excitable last year so she's shown she can adapt.

Yeah, I've really warmed to Nancy this year, even though I don't think her and Will have been the best personality match. It's given her an opportunity to show how she can manage a slightly more prickly partnership quite well

Edit: just to add, I'm not actually sure who would be a good personality match with Will 😆 Karen maybe?
