I agree that Gorka most likely would have gotten Nina further than Neil did. It's a shame for all involved that those pairings seem to have come about based on location and pairing the spares, rather than the best fit.

I go back and forth on thinking the bonkers marking is producer mandated, or whether it's the judges trying to counteract each other - i.e. Craig scoring lower than he really thinks it deserves because he knows Anton's going to give a 9 for wearing a top hat or some such rubbish, and the others, especially Motsi and Anton scoring higher than they really think because they anticipate Craig being overly harsh.

Lol, love that especially the bit about the top hat 🎩😁

Motsi used to give lower marks when she started. It used to actually annoy me, she would gush about how wonderful they were and then give them a 4 or a 5 or something 😁

Motsi has given 1s and 2s in Germany and of course dished out 3s to the likes of Anneka, James & David in 2019 so her scores seem to have gone completely off-piste. Makes me wonder if the producers are influencing things a bit.

It always was a bit jarring to me when she would praise someone to the hilt and then give them a score that didn't match in the least with what she had sad.

I think 10s should be much more sparingly given in general. They are devalued when they are being flung out willy nilly.

Neil's hand is giving me the heebiejeebies

Thanks, now this meme is literally all I'm gonna think of whenever I see Neil. 😂 😂 😂

Firstly I really need to get this off my chest, I've not wished him off, but I've been waiting since the beginning for when James Bye would be booted off just so I could see what silliness the ITT team would have with his farewell name. They did not disappoint!

Secondly, what magic does the Amy have that the powerless exiting celeb men bow at her great holiness and bequeath eternal friendship

Thirdly, did ITT read tattle and the slagging off of King of Halloween that they made a whole (admittedly entertaining) segment?
Awww and now I’m remembering Aljaz reading the autocue 😩

Craig looked pissed off on Saturday especially when Anton was talking non stop and interacting with the crowd. You could tell he was worked up. Last year Anton didn’t gel with the other three but as he’s grown in confidence as a judge it seems Craig is more the outsider this year

I do hope Craig sticks around. No one is bigger than the show, but he's the one element that might upset the balance a bit if he left

There does seem to be a bit of prickliness on the judging panel (I don't think Craig and Motsi get on, and I imagine all of them were put out by Anton's NTA) but at the end of the day, it's a very well paid gig involving not very much work so hopefully that might keep Craig around for a bit longer

It would be awful if Craig left.
Quite often the only judge actually judging what is in front of him - and never (as far as I recall) a hint of bias or favouritism.
Plus the knowledge he is a very kind supportive person behind the scenes.
He would be very hard to replace.
I think Craig leaving would be the final nail in the coffin for a lot of folk. It’s changed so much since I started watching it (2009) so it must be unrecognisable in parts to folk who have watched it from the start.

Thinking of early Strictly, I heard Rebel Yell and it made me think of that fantastic jive. Who was choreographing pre-Jason Gilkinson?

That jive was Matthew and Nicole Cutler I believe.

I agree. I'm nit sure if it's all an act but it must be wearing being the only person on the judging panel being constructive and the others playing up to the sudience. I think he was getting far tetchier with the booing too. The booing is irritating. I'm wondering if the audience are encouraged to do it now whenever he speaks. I do think Anton is constructive in his comments most of the time. It is massively annoying that the two female judges, both highly regarded, experienced dancers and choreographers are put in the airhead roles of 'oh I looove it!' to any old crap while the men are the ones giving out the advice. Not sure if that's them or the producers, but I'm sure they have enough power to say no to the producers.
