For someone who has lived in the UK for years, that sort of wry, sarcastic humour seems to go completely over Janette's head. I love Strictly and it's shiny, happy vibe, but it works because it's in on the joke a bit too and knows how to subtlety take the piss out of itself. Something that I don't think Janette gets
 
So it seems like Janette kinda got pushed out of being a pro and ITT was the perfect opportunity for the producers to do that, hire Jowita and yet not have Janette leave the show completely. I guess that after HRVY, she had nothing left to achieve.

Not sure on her for ITT again next year, I think an AJ/Rylan combination would be better.

I'm not sure AJ would be any better than Janette to be honest. She seems equally 'shouty' and self absorbed to me, but without the dance knowledge.

I wouldn't mind seeing the back of Alijaz and Giovanni; they technically having nothing left to accomplish on the show either. I cant see either of them winning again.

Agreed, neither seem likely to get contenders any time soon, I can't see them winning if they aren't anywhere near the top of the producers' priority lists. I think Aljaž is the new Anton if he doesn't quit (I have a feeling he might quit this year). And Giovanni probably peaked with Rose, I imagine she's the last good partner he gets and he'll gradually wind down his stint over the next couple of years with duffers/lower middlers before leaving.

Aljaz hasn’t had anyone after Abbey Clancey he had even a chance at winning with so I think this year will be a sort of crossroads for him. I like his optimism and he seems to be a very good teacher/partner so it would be a shame if he left.

This year will be telling for Gio too, in terms of how they treat him now he’s won. I think if he gets a proper duffer he’ll leave and the producers probably know that. He’s a good choreographer and an excellent teacher but Rose was the difference for me with him this year. I think he’ll get someone decent because they don’t want him to leave and it’ll be really annoying!
 
That reminds me, this came up on my YouTube recommendations, and in the comments who should get a mention but LadyL, she must be infamous in the Strictly fandom :ROFLMAO: (the video is a good view of live tour as well 😆)

I don't agree. Helen George was a very good dancer and in a very popular tv show. Daisy Lowe was not a duffer and had she been a bit more engaged could have gone further. Gemma Atkinson was good and popular (and didn't she get to the final?). Both Helen and Gemma looked better prospects than Abbey to be honest, so I don't think Aljaz has been short-changed overall.
 
Aljaž has been on 9 years and never really had a properly crap dancer or anyone over 50 (except for Moira at Christmas). And he did get 4 good partners in his first 5 series, it's just recently that he's had more average celebs and even then, Clara was decent on paper. If he choreographed better routines, I'd maybe be more eager to see him get a ringer but I can't remember a single interesting latin from him in his entire tenure so I'm fine with him slotting into an Anton type role.

If Gio throws away the Strictly paycheck and exposure purely because they gave him a duffer this year, he wouldn't be worth keeping anyway.
 
I don’t think Aljaz has ever had a proper ringer, so personally I would be interested to see what he could do with someone that could really dance. My only worry with that is his choreo has gone slightly downhill in recent years, but that may be due to the fact he’s not had the best dancers and can’t show off the full potential of what he can do. Getting a ringer for his 10th series and having one last shot at winning again before leaving would be nice to see, especially if it inspired some new and exciting choreo from him!

I guess I won’t have Aljaz as my specialist subject on Mastermind 😂. I think Gemma was deserving of the final and Helen and Daisy did do well but I don’t think either of them were destined to win.

Abbey was a surprise winner for me, Natalie Gumede and Artem were better technically I thought. I didn’t realise Abbey was so popular.

I honestly think he will get someone decent. Or he will spit his dummy out. He was saying in an interview I read that he was pretty much getting bored of the same thing year after year and that’s why he begged for rose this year so it was something more challenging for him. He’ll get what he wants again, most likely the same sex pairing as it’s different to his norm for him. Either way he isn’t going to be doing the strictly tour by the looks next year as his own tour dates for 2023 are slowly being realised and one of the dates are early Feb which will clash with the strictly tour

Owain is very “in” at the bbc at the moment and probably destined for something bigger than north west tonight weatherman so strictly this year wouldn’t surprise me one bit. I think he’d be fabulous to be honest. Not sure how tall he is but if he was to do same sex I think maybe graziano might be a good match someone a bit quieter as owain is quite a big character unlike John who was fairly quiet. Not sure which female I’d like to see with him essentially anyone but Amy but then they might go for her as they’re both Welsh so they can push that.
