I'm sure they'll be someone who is related or married to a much more famous celeb, along the lines of Tilly and Greg this year. They do love shoehorning them into the VTs having all those close ups of them crying in the audience. Just please god not one of the Beckham offspring

i could 100000% see a beckham offspring doing it. brooklyn is getting terrible press right now, i could see someone suggesting it as a pr move, plus, the beeb would be absolutely cartwheeling for joy with getting david and/or victoria in the audience.

as others have said, it really comes down to who has the time for something like this. soap stars always work well because they can take a large amount of time off, likewise a younger pop star who is between tours.

I think Portillo might be quite a good dancer.
He could probably do fairly okay with classic ballroom Latin not so much
He’s also probably reasonably likeable with the older crowd. He’s quite inoffensive these days as well.
Amy needs someone old and irritating and completely useless. Portillo doesn’t really fall into that category.

Don’t see Brooklyn on strictly. Jungle or ice dancing maybe but the Beckhams don’t really have any connections at the bbc. At least Tilly had actually been on cbbc prior. Granted it was with her Dad but she’s actually done something. I think he’d more likely turn up on DWTS to be honest.

Johannes is on The Wheel of shame. Do you reckon we'll ever be unfortunate enough to get Michael McIntyre on Strictly given most of the cast have had a spin?

Michael McIntyre probably won’t do it - just get his doppelgänger and dance machine Ryan-Mark Parsons instead. There’s the man guaranteed to send any pro home early!
(if you watched Celebs Go Dating, you’ll know what I mean).

Not that I think they’ll cast someone from The Apprentice and especially not a Katie Hopkins wannabe (thankfully).

I’d love to see Alex Murphy the ex DOI pro skater give it a go! I got my hopes up thinking she was doing the Xmas special but she didn’t 😭

Someone on Digital Spy said that Alex had revealed on social media (probably an IG live) that her agent was in contact with Strictly. There's a slight chance there (albeit not the wisest move to make it public).

Apparently Janette said on Mastermind that the production team offered her the ITT role and she didn’t really want to stop dancing. So now she’s had her stint and I’ve seen little positive feedback on it, I wonder if they’ll give her another shot to find her feet? This article says she’s not going back to being a pro and I don’t pick up the vibe that she wants to leave Strictly altogether.

Who am I kidding, Tess has been dire for the last 20 years and she’s still there.

Yeah, I can't see her leaving ITT any time soon, but also I'm not sure she'll be that good at presenting outside of the Strictly bubble either. If Rylan ever leaves (please don't yet Rylan), will ITT become the Aljaz and Janette show?

Re 2022 celebs, if the Strictly bookers are keeping an eye on the Winter Olympics, then Eve Muirhead? She's the big story and in her interview on the news just now, she said she was thinking of retiring. And also a good Scottish booking as they didn't have any Scots last year

I can see that, but like you I hope Rylan doesn’t leave soon (unless it’s to present the main show).

And yes to Eve Muirhead! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I really hope Rylan doesn't leave ITT either. You need a presenter who is calm and in control and you feel is actually listening to what is being said not just rolling out stock questions and ignoring the replies.
Yes! That was the worst thing about Janette for me, she wasnt listening to what the guests were actually saying and you could see her get visibly stressed trying to make the conversation fit/follow her pre prepared questions.

Absolutely. Plus the constant seal-like clapping (and getting everyone else in the studio to start clapping) after almost every answer the celeb gave wasn't just irritating but quite obviously a tactic to cover up the fact she had nothing to contribute in the conversation.

Whereas Rylan has that warm and cosy conversational approach that works really well on a tea-time show. Plus, as mentioned, his sardonic wit kept it from being too much of a saccharine love-in.

Not everything has to be loud, high-energy and in-your-face. I don't dislike Jeanette per se, but I never felt she was 'present' in the interviews
