Didn't she end up in the dance off with that? And there was a whole thing where the arms kept getting caught on Aljaz's head and she couldn't stop laughing afterwards? I remember a video going round kind of like an outtake from the dance off and she had everyone in fits because she couldn't stop laughing 😂
Yes! Utterly joyful.
And crikey Aljaz in that shirt 🥵

I've no issue with Tony winning either. Especially as the judges were so bloody rude to him a couple of weeks ago - not even giving him or Katya the courtesy of a reasoned critique but just openly laughing and mocking them.

I haven't seen any training footage but I really hope it isn't the case of Karen mainly dancing around Jayde again. Not good enough at this stage. And if that really is the limit of her capabilities she needs to go. Unlike Tony I haven't seen any improvement in Jayde from week one. Do the judges ever comment on her footwork or anything much technical? Always seems to be about how emotional it is.
I can't say for sure that they don't comment on her footwork but I definitely can't recall any of them saying anything much to her that would give her something to work on. Meanwhile the others are taking all on board and working on whatever is said to them.

Motsi praised her for getting up off the floor one week, and Shirley talked about feeling very emotional after Jayde's dance last week. Joanne briefly went there on ITT, and mentioned her being flat footed and that's the nearest I have heard to any criticism.

Go on, Tony! I would love to see him win. I think he has got into the spirit of things after looking almost terrified the first night. Anton summed it up when he said that's what Strictly is all about after the Full Monty. 😁

And I know this sounds daft but when ITT was showing all the couples at the beginning last night, including those who are gone, I felt a bit sad for Matt. He did seem to get a lot from it in fairness, and what he said, on leaving, was very touching.

If I had the time and energy I'd start a campaign. I'm sure the arsenal fan clubs are on it.

Someone mentioned earlier how well he takes criticism compared to whingebag will and it's true he does. But 20+ of counselling plus having a manager roar at you for missing a pass will do that to you!

I mentioned about the way he takes the criticism so well.
Well that's true. On live tv though, in his sparkly underwear, 😁 go Tony! 🏆

i think i said while watching but i LOVE how bashful he becomes once he’s danced. he immediately pulls his shirt closed or rebuttons once it’s over and i find it very sweet.

jelly i think your final prediction may be right! hamza and helen are always been my constants, but the other spots are fully up for grabs imo. and why not a man who is enjoying the experience and working hard?!

You’ve triggered a memory - remember the pished pub landlady that did a message for John last year?

BRING HER BACK

I'M WET! And there ended the live video messages.

This is hilarious! Some of these are far better than the ones they chose

Someone was on Tattle. Now if they could do a section on some of the pros trying to understand the words to The Ballad of Freda and Barry.

I think the difference now is that we're trying to move away from fat being a bad thing and that fat is just a description not a slur or an insult. And because fat girls in school were told they couldn't do this that and the other it's more empowering to own it and be like, I'm too big to be lifted but duck it, I can do the lifts. When Lisa did it everyone would have been afraid to mention her size until it came to praising her for her weight loss. 1That kind of praise on anyone always made me feel uncomfortable because I remember Louisa Lyton who was miniscule as it was being praise by, I think it was Arlene, for losing weight. Not good.

The idea that Jayde puts forward in general seems to be that it doesn't matter if she's fat, and it doesn't. Some awful people have too many opinions about other people's bodies as the comments under her videos will show.

It is a shame Jayde has been overly emotional and, you know, not that good of a dancer, because I think that message would have been powerful if she kind of stuck to that as her purpose on the show. (If she was better)
I mentioned weight loss, not in respect of it being a good thing and worthy of praise, merely as evidence that she had obviously worked so hard physically, that she had burned off her weight. At school, it wasn’t the fat girls who were told to take the lead, it was more the bigger framed girls. And being chosen because you could take a man’s part , and not be fat, could not have been pleasant. And no-one was left out of activities because of their weight. All this obsession with weight is quite a new thing. When I was a teenager, the amount of fat that people carried wasn’t an issue. They just bought the same clothes, but bigger. I knew no one who was actually obese. And I have to disagree with you. I think calling someone fat would still be a slur and an insult. Making a point of being big is exacerbating the problem in my opinion. It shouldn’t matter, either you can dance or you can’t. I am a size 12, my daughter is a size 20. I wouldn’t want her making a point for being bigger. So this is where I cannot understand Jayde. I am sure the male pros could have lifted her, she is not gargantuan. Perhaps I’m just tired of people making a point. It’s so boring.

i miss aljaz so much 😭😭😭

fully agree with this.

i’m also interested to see how that song gets adapted for an early evening crowd - the original lyrics are filthy (in a gently funny way) 🤣

as soon as jayde gets in a dance off she’s gone imo: there’s no one there who she’s better than. unless the judges completely lose their minds.

re tony: i think he’ll go further than anyone (including himself) expects but i just can’t see him actually winning.

I’m scared interested to know how they are going to chop up a 5 minute comedy ballad into a 90 second Charleston.

is Ariadne on Tattle?
if she is I may squee and get a little star struck :D

I mean it’s about time they let out all that rage that’s quite clearly simmering beneath the surface – she has a lot of post-Les Mis contempowaft feelings to work through

what truly awful theme do we think will scupper Amy this year? I’m guessing Halloween Samba with James dressed as Charlie Brown and Amy as the Great Pumpkin but ~sexy~.

As long as he avoids a dance off then anything is possible.
He does genuinely seem to be working hard and improving. Interesting that Gogglebox seem firmly behind him which is always a bit of a yardstick for the public mood too.
Mystic Jelly foresees Tony, Hamza, Helen in the final.

I've said before that I'm pretty sure if you're bottom of the LB then you can't avoid a DO even with the highest public vote. But you can probably get to around week 10, I think.

They can … they have to.
its What caused the Great Furore of Series 6 when Rachel, and Lisa were tied for top on 3 points and Tom below them on one point. Even if he had topped the public vote, he couldn’t be in the dance off … and considering the whole thing is ‘vote <by paying actual money in some cases> to save Your favourite from the dance off’ it has to be at least technically possible. It’s also why the point allocation system works the day it does. If it had happened now, Lisa and Rachel would still have had 3 points, but Tom would have had 2.

Personally, I think the dance off should be ditched from the quarter final. If people would rather see someone who has improved over someone who is a technically better dancer, but dragged through after 3 or 4 dance offs, then that’s who they should get to see.

Well, let's see what happens. duck! Why didn't I put my tenner on Tony?? 😁

It doesn't sound daft. I was rooting for Matt as I could see he was in terror from the minute he put his foot on the dance floor, plus he really did try very hard at learn his dances.

I liked him and thought his leaving speech was lovely. I really wish him well, he seems a lovely man with a great soul. ❤
