I was just watching back Hamza's salsa, and one of the great things about it is that it's a genuine Strictly 'moment' - similar to jay's jive. It wasn't massively orchestrated to happen like all those CCs that get high scores, with the judges wanging on about them being one of the best dances EVA when they're anything but.

Hint to Strictly - stop trying to make 'moments' happen by overmarking. Just let people do what they do best and the moments will come

Some of the song choices are... interesting. Plenty of TV themes work well, e.g. Emma and Aljaz's Foxtrot to the Downton Abbey theme, and DWTS had a lovely Viennese Waltz to the Outlander theme 5 or 6 years ago (standard 'poor song was butchered by the alleged 'singers' warning if you look it up) but being restricted to only BBC shows has led to some weird picks.

That said, kinda disappointed there aren't a few more insane choices. They chickened out by having at least 3 or 4 real songs in there. If it's gonna be bad, I want it to be like, Paula Deen's Gilligan's Island samba level bad.

Surely we could have had Gavin and Stacey or
Top of the pops

So much they could have used. Makes you wonder if the production team had their meeting on a Friday at 3:30pm and couldn't actually be arsed.

"Yep, Dr Who, tango, yep fine. Worked last time."
"Footballer? Eh, yeah, Grandstand will do."
"We've got some school uniforms left over from last year, give 'em Grange Hill."

She’s on Cbeebies … that’s the school one sorted.
She said she used to dance to Casualty … sorted.
he’s on Eastenders … no brainier.
she was on Blue Peter … gosh, this is easy
Footballer … Grandstand … this writing itself.

What’s left? stick ‘em in the hat … close your eyes and pick one.

I want to like Jayde but between her and Will its becoming whats supposed to be a fun lighthearted dance show become something so serious.

It's a tricky one. On the one hand, she's spent a week working on the dance and if the song reminds her of her sister and she wants to share her memory, it seems harsh to tell her that she can't. But on the other hand, it is supposed to be Saturday night entertainment
