But she wasn't everyone's cuppa tea...she was amusing but not particularly funny imo so not sure jumping on the VW bandwagon is going to do her any favours tbh..

that's a given.
It would be lovely if the dance could happen with merely a passing nod to VW.. a simple gracious acceptance of whatever fair critiques are given by the judges .. a happy chat about the dance itself afterwards ....

I think it's undeniable that she wouldn't have received the amount of attention/support she did if she wasn't deaf, but it's hardly fair to begrudge her for that when a) being deaf also made it a lot more challenging for her and b) there have been other contestants with disabilities who didn't win so clearly she didn't just get votes out of sympathy. I think if she wasn't deaf she'd still have had a good chance of winning- she has a likeable personality and was good but not a ringer

Also, this is a bit mean but does anyone else think Joe is looking very unkempt these days? The longer hair doesn't suit him, he just looks like a homeless hippy in every photo I see of him

Im not begrudging her of her difficulties, absolutely not but I don’t think she would have done as well had she not had that as a factor which is just my opinion. She has done very well for herself.
I agree regarding Joe.

I personally don't see chemistry between Dianne and Tyler (I did with her and Joe), though I think they do get on very well.

I find Dianne tends to get tunnel vision when it comes to Strictly and I don't know if it's exactly a good thing. I think that's why she gets so upset when voted off, obvs with Dev and she did cry when she got voted off with Max as well but it was just after the show. It also doesn't help her with all the trolls that come after her on social media either.

Totally agree about Rose and I’ve had more than enough. That’s all I’ll say before I get banned.

Yes, all of this! I think I'm most surprised by Will - he's a sour mardyarse. Also surprised by Jayde who I thought would be much more entertaining.

A sour mardyarse is possibly my favourite description of him 😁🤣.
I feel sorry for Nancy tbh, it must be quite difficult dealing with such a negative drama queen week in, week out.

I don't get Jayde at all. I would have preferred to see her leave a hundred times over Matt leaving.

The silent part was effective the first time but entirely predictable. There had been tweets suggesting a silent dance for weeks! I wasn't a fan of the rest of the dance.
I don't think she won on sympathy but I do think she was lifted along because of it. The push from the producers was constant and we were fed line after line. I don't think she'd have got a far if she was with another dancer because that was all part of the story too and Gio did do a great job disguising the weaknesses.

In fairness to Gio he did a great job being a support for Ranvir that year in what must have been difficult circumstances.
 
Jayde already said on the Sunday show that it will be emotional, which made me roll my eyes. She’s a lovely lady but definitely over marked. I hope after she got to honour her sister last week, the judges will be more realistic with marking her. Who knows she may come out and deserve high scores, but I doubt it.
 
I am actually hoping Jayde will surprise us all with her Charleston. I'm getting cross with her just walking around and the judges over marking her for it implying she can't be judged by 'normal' rules due the emotion of it all (which is not her fault).
She needs to step it up a gear and show some actual dancing.

Even if the Molly thing is true, which is doubtful, you don't know that the timeline was really a week. If he and Nicole are broken up, it might have happened weeks or months earlier, and the tabloids have only got hold of it now. Even if it is true, she doesn't seem to be holding a grudge, or surely she wouldn't have come to the show this week.

Gone right off Will. He should have either swallowed his pride and taken the week off if he was that sick, or sucked it up and not made such a meal of it like everyone else who was sick did. That said, I do feel a bit bad for him, The pressure to do well after week 1 must be intimidating, then to make a mistake last week, and then get sick... yikes. It'd make anyone frustrated, but he really needs to take a chill pill. Halfway through his jive I thought 'well, there's the winner', but it's all gone a bit awry.

I can’t believe they made a big thing about it only being the second time Dianne had got past week four on the results show. She’s been there since 2017, I’m not sure it’s anything to clap about

Maybe Nancy is a ‘Strict’ (I’m so sorry) teacher - by the sounds of last year she could have ran Rhys ragged or didn’t hit it home to him the importance of breaks etc - or Will’s had a good opening dance, crowned himself the winner and all of this is self-imposed. Either way, it’s not cute, it’s not endearing and he’s coming across like a twit.

I doubt anyone who isn’t competitive would go on Strictly and I get that need to stay in the top half of the group. His choice to dance last week though and I hope he watched it back to see how bad he came across on both shows (he almost had his back to Nancy in the results show, all cheeky chappy again because he got through)

His disgusted face! it is basically a crime in Italy to drink cappuccino with proper food/after 11am.

I don't see how a VW dance can be emotional (I guess apart from Jayde maybe identifying with her). It's a cracking song - god knows what the band/singers will do with it. It should just be a joyous experience as it was when Victoria Wood performed it.

I really like them together - they seem to genuinely get on and have a laugh. Vito is very funny - I thought he would be Gio 2 but he's a big old goof.
 
Does anyone know why Jayde has a female partner? I don’t think I’ve ever seen the back story behind it.
Sorry if it’s been discussed loads and I’ve missed it. I don’t know how I would have considering I never leave the thread 🤣
