OMG Dave Thorp has done an exclusive interview with the Mail (complete with paparazzi-style pics!). That Dan will be raging!

This is gold. The lowest stakes drama ever 😂
And I imagine he'd tit himself if they did ever start broadcasting live on a Sunday, because then no one would visit his site anymore

I used to occasionally dip into the DM and people would often post the results of the dance off in comments on unrelated articles, and unless the same handful of people were pulled out the ballot week in week out, they were getting it from Dave Twerp or another spoiler site.

In saying that, I definitely think it has its place. I can’t even explain why I like to know the result and as I’ve said before, I pretend to my husband that the results show is the first I’ve heard of the elimination. But we’re all adults and if we don’t want to know then we know where to avoid but I appreciate being able to find out in advance. And I like my Sunday morning chats here about what’s happened.

Instead of insisting they he’s ‘providing a service’, he could perhaps admit that he just reposts information gleaned from other people’s efforts for profit. 🙄

I mean, I post on here and read everything, and even I manage to avoid the spoilers...so it's really a non-story.

The Beeb will just be annoyed because they assume people won't watch the results show if people read the spoiler. If they're worried, they should maybe pull some better talent for the performance section (George Ezra was the first act in ages I've been happy to see perform).

Jes*s he is omnipresent at all things strictly. Face forward at the awards ceremony. Why do SCD keep him on board? There must be plenty of young eager, talented and attractive dancers that would love a shot at SCD.

It's baffling:unsure:
[/QUOTE]

he ticks a box ...

The best pro dancers on the show and they look so good together 😍

About the sob stories; I’m not averse to people showing emotion when it’s genuine and in the moment, but Jayde has cried every week at this point I think? It comes off as being contrived. First it was the superfan little old me schtick, then I’m doing it for the big girls and then it was for her sister. It’s just… a lot?

I don’t know if it was on here but I read a comment from someone saying if you say you’re dedicating your dance to your dead sister then it does put you above criticism because it wouldn’t be “in the spirit” if that makes sense? Like if you didn’t love it you’re a heartless bastard. It’s also why I hate CC - as well as them being technically shite 9 times out of 10 (I thought Rose and Gio’s CC was a pile of shite but I didn’t dare say it at the time cos everyone was googly eyed over it).
If Rose and Gio's CC didn't have the silent moment, it would have been completely average. And I remember Motsi or Anton, maybe both, saying that they don't care about how good the technique was because it was 'a moment that transcended dance' or something. All that being said, I'll willingly admit that I did start crying at the silent moment

I assume he will have more people seeking out his site this weekend as well.

I can’t understand all the fuss - the results show is usually pulling in over 40% of the audience share and is the top rated entertainment programme for them more often than not on a Sunday night… so even with the spoiler people are still watching.

i cried when i first saw it and then cried again when i watched it a second time and noticed the hand over ears choreo which i somehow missed the first time. as a dance it’s absolutely fine but as a moment it’s gorgeous.

i watch it even knowing the spoiler! it’s still nice to see whether it was the right decision and the leaving speech etc - i definitely agree that they don’t lose audience because of it. if you like the show, then you’re going to watch regardless.

My heart of stone didn’t do much as crack

i am a complete sap who has cried at many routines on strictly (including, weirdly, gio and georgia’s beauty and the beast routine 🤣) so i’ll accept it!

Neil staying on is pretty baffling and I can't see what box he ticks - of other pros who stayed too long, most had something that arguably kept them in the game (e.g. Brendan Cole who stayed past his sell by date was the first ever winner). I can't think of any reason to keep Neil and agree with that his spot should go to a younger, eager dancer who would bring something to the show, there are many out there.

After all, if the show didn't axe the likes of Jared Murillo & Robin Windsor, we wouldn't have got Pasha or Giovanni.

To be fair, Neil being there hasn’t stopped them hiring other pro’s that have made it onto the full time rota over him … Johannes, Kai, Nikita, Carlos, Vito have all joined after Neil … even AJ and Gorka who joined in the same series have had more partners. With 2 benched male pros and 3 benched female ones, i don’t think he is denying anyone a place if they really wanted someone.
