some of them have really lucked out! the apprentice theme is a ballet anyway, the instrumental ee theme works decently for a ballroom number - then the flip side is having to dance to casualty 🤣

it seems such an unfair week to be given your couples choice! molly and carlos could have done a truly amazing one, but are stuck within this theme now.

I agree. Last year I was most excited about Robert Webb, well look how that turned out. Meanwhile the three finalists were amazing, and I'd only heard of John.

Still trudging through Saturday's show/s tbh but loved Katya and Tony and his shout out to 'friends of Bill' - subtle (for this show) and sweet! Also liked Jayde and Karen's dance. I've changed my mind on Matt, thought he was weird and cold but realised he's a bit odd but rather sweet.

Also thanks to this thread the phrase 'first ever mental health rumba' regularly enters my brain without prompting
 
The ones that are actual songs will be great. I can see Fleur's jive and Hamza's quickstep being amazing and Ballroom Blitz has the makings for a super fun routine. The theme tunes, however, not so much. Poor Helen!

Tyler's Dr Who Tango is far too recent to repeat, surely? Everybody will be thinking of Stace and Grimsby tin man Kev. Ah well, Dianne's had her four weeks and doubtless she'll be dressed as a sparkly dalek 👋

I think I said it on an earlier thread but I never take much notice of whether I know them or not, as they are being announced.

I didn't know most of them, bar Kym, James, Will and Matt, but I didn't care. Once they get started then, they either grow on me, or not, whether I knew them before or I didn't.

Hamza is an absolute sweetheart. The sheer enjoyment on his face all through that amazing dance was something to behold.

Bloody hell, I was 100% taking the piss when I suggested the Grange Hill theme tune!

At this stage, I honestly can’t tell if this show is going to be so gloriously insane that it will end up being sheer genius or if it’s going to be an absolute abomination 😱😬🙈

I guess after Tyler’s garage mash-up in tribute to his mum and Chris Ramsey’s Ant & Dec homage to his teenage acne, anything flies for couples choice.

I think its fitting that one of the black contestants are doing the doctor who theme as there will be a black doctor for the first time this year/next year just like when Stacey did her dance it was the year there was the first female doctor.
 
I’d have thought they would have gone for one the UK Eurovision winners … it’s like Ellie T came a week esrly to the party … although given Casualty Tango, you could forgive her

It does seem like a wasted opportunity to recycle something fairly recent when there's lots of other stuff to choose from (I guess they want to promote the new Doctor Who episode that's on this weekend? 🤷)

Same with Molly's - I could be wrong, but I imagine it's going to feel fairly similar to Tilly's Matilda dance last year
