Anyone else think Jayde will have another ‘emotional week’ dancing to Victoria Wood.

Matt danced his socks off fair play to him, I’m really sad to see him go. His goodbye speech was so heartfelt and genuine, I don’t mind admitting I shed a tear.

When they pull the ‘never heard of [insert name of dance that has been danced 1000 times on the show]’ schtick, I always take it to mean ‘I have literally never watched this show because I’m far too busy [/think it’s tit], but my agent told me I needed to raise my profile before I get declared bankrupt so here I am’

I’ve got vague memories of seeing Will on a reality series of some kind, years ago - something sport related.
I remember him kicking off over a game of cards. Really weird thing to remember but as soon as I saw he was on Strictly I felt that I don’t like him and he’s got a side to him!
I don’t dislike Jayde, but I think she’s getting a very easy ride.
I hope Matt has friends and a support network, to use a cringey term, now that he’s back in the Uk. He strikes me as being a bit lonely.

I do remember that one. Maybe Kevin is using Jedi mind tricks to make his dances instantly forgettable?

Just looked at the Instagram likes for last nights dances. Hamzas has 63,000!

I love him. Why is he known though? Is he one of the CBBC people I now don't know because my kids have grown out of CBBC? It seems to be the first year I haven't had to throw a vote at someone from CBBC as a condition of sending the kids to bed

They’re talking about The Spoiler on GMB - saying that it’s an audience member talking to a website. So just rehashing the DM article by the sounds of it.

A few of you will know this if it’s true - apparently the results show was on a Saturday night until 2008 and it was changed because Brucie was too tired to go live again after the results were checked etc. We’ve had at least one change of Producer so I can’t see it going back to all on a Saturday any time soon

Bruce stopped doing the results show late at night before he left. I remember when it was just Tess.

BBC decided people didn’t want to stay up to watch the results show on a Saturday, and it wasn’t very long. They could pad it out a lot bit and have another show for Sunday night to get ratings and fill a spot in the autumn for not too much more outlay. I think it was budgeting.

It was also partly because at the time The X Factor, which was SCD’s nemesis, had a Sunday night results show, so they saw this is an opportunity to steal some of ITV/Simon Cowell’s audience.

Now I'm not a Matt fan and I thought his dancing looking like a jelly on a plate but he was trying and in all honesty he should have been in the bottom two with Jayde and Jayde should have gone. If you are going to join strictly and you are of plus size you should be able to do the moves like Hamza or you can't and in that case don't bother joining! Jayde is very limited in what she can do and is frankly tit so she needs to go!

Didn't see the dance off as George Ezra came on and I switched over!

That does sound like a terrible idea! They wantd a 100 years of the BBC show, but surely a TV show themed show ( so outfits) would be better? At least the BBC orchestra should be able to play them!

I’m not keen on the new producer - she’s the one from the itv sobfest shows isn’t she? Gilkison and the burn the floor lot have to be phased out, it’s all starting to look the same, and is just an ad for those shows.

but, she got rid of Louise Rainbow’s comedy vts - which were dire, so there is a positive.

Also until about series 5-ish (until the misnaming of the Blue Peter kitten scandal ) a portion of the money from the phone votes went to Children in Need and the phone lines were open all week. They only closed to tally the votes after the dances and re-opened immediately afterwards. Keeping it on the same night meant more voting time.

Now, there’s no need for that so the chances of them giving up a prime time programme on Sunday that regularly pulls in over 40% of the audience share for no extra outlay isn’t going to happen. I suspect they are quite happy with how things are, even with the moles.

i truly can’t remember i only recall bruce and tess (in some kind of broom cupboard boudoir), and now tess and claudia (in the claudiatorium). did we have bruce, tess and claudia for a time? because if so that’s gone from my memory completely!

Tess did the Claudia job in a cupboard from the beginning and Bruce was the main presenter. Then Tess started standing beside Bruce, especially when he was getting older. Claudia did it takes 2 - which she was amazing at, it was so funny. Then they brought her in to do the post dance stuff and Tess stayed with a Bruce as he got more frail and needed support. They did the results show on their own together as I recall because Bruce was too tired. Then Bruce retired and it’s like it is now.

ETA I know Bruce was old when it started - relatively - but the change from the beginning to the end of his tenure was huge and shows the quite rapid decline on the elderly. So many stories of how he did the warm up and the audience loved him in the early days.

I don’t think so. From memory Bruce & Tess did the main show, Claudia did ITT, then when Bruce stepped down from the results show Claudia & Tess did that. Or at least I think that was what happened …

It was Bruce doing the main presenting with Tess in the Tesspit, then when Bruce didn’t do the results show, so Tess did the main results presenting and Claudia moved into the renamed Clauditorium which continued when Bruce left completely? I think?

I’ve seen him on a CBeebies programme called ‘Let’s Go for a Walk’, which is really nice actually. He takes a group of kids out, sometimes in the countryside and sometimes in more built up areas and they talk about what they see along the way. Not seen him anywhere else myself.
