I hope it’s their CC and they do an actual hornpipe! Seeing Gorka dance a hornpipe would amuse me more than I can possibly say



(And yes, I’m well aware that putting the words ‘Gorka’ and ‘hornpipe’ into the same sentence on this thread is asking for trouble!)

As someone who was an Irish dancer in a past life, this was not what I was expecting when I read the word hornpipe :ROFLMAO:

When they pull the ‘never heard of [insert name of dance that has been danced 1000 times on the show]’ schtick, I always take it to mean ‘I have literally never watched this show because I’m far too busy [/think it’s tit], but my agent told me I needed to raise my profile before I get declared bankrupt so here I am’
 
I like that Matt still gave it his everything in the dance off and each week seemed to relax and come more at ease. In a way I wish he had a few more weeks because he looked like he was progressing (not just with dancing) being on the show and with Nadiya as his pro.
I think next week could be an interesting week thanks to the theme, as someone who has watched from the beginning I feel the majority of the best dances have had traditional music for the style.

I think he’s got a bit of class about him :) I’m probably a bit over sensitive, but I hate it when people overcelebrate whilst others are still waiting to hear their fate. My family think I’m bonkers when I say that though 😂
Absolutely gutted for Matt. What a sweet, gentle soul he turned out to be; and his partner and the other contestants seemed to genuinely love him.

The whole show next week is just going to be absolute batshit crazy...

I've just gone and watched the original 1986 version with Victoria Wood on Youtube for a laugh, and...holy moly, it gets fast and herky-jerky towards the end of the song, it'll have to be a Charleston, and even then, I can't see Jayde managing to keep up on the evidence of her past four dances. (Hell, I think some of the front-runners would have trouble keeping up with Victoria- there's not a single moment of respite in the whole thing.)

(Also, I just want to hear the line "Be mighty! Be flighty! Come and and melt the buttons on me flame-proof nightie" sung by the Strictly Singers on primetime Saturday TV in the year 2022)
