I agree with Mr Thorp. The flagship show of the BBC autumn schedule and they think a results show is OK to pre record. It should be live.
No one signs an NDA or anything, I doubt the show bosses are hunting for anyone 😂

To be fair, the whole article is hilarious.
the fact the Strictly viewers have just twigged the result is prerecorded after 9 years (for the latest edition of the dance off), the fact it’s the ‘same’ person every week when they had already said it an audience member.

Spidey senses say that as the results show regularly pulls in 40+% of the viewer share prime time Sunday for no extra outlay, the BBC couldn’t give a flying fig and it’s the Daily Mail with the cob on.

Do we think Matt's going home tonight then? I really feel for him - I could see such an improvement in his confidence and energy tonight and if he has to go out on a high on a dance that he clearly enjoyed, maybe it's time.
Me too. I voted for him because I think he really tried to let himself go this week even though his dancing isn’t brilliant he’s giving it a good go. Saying that there was a lot of improvement this week across the board so I think he really needs massive votes to keep him in.

He is a fabulous solo/group dancer but finding most of Johannes' partnerships so far very lacking in originality and somewhat lacklustre (bar the partnership with John) - Catherine and Caroline seemed to have had a modicum of dancing potential not fully realised, Ellie T could be going the same way sadly, there's simply no WOW factor and it seems flat not helped by the very strange theming and (some) dodgy costumes!

They ask that you don't share the result as a courtesy but there's nothing binding. Audience don't get their phones until after both recordings but the celebs and family have theirs. DS have had threads actively asking for moles and nothing was ever done so sure they're still as unbothered now. If I remember correctly the result is released by the BBC for all the media around midnight anyway.

As for tonight... HAMZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Dianne looked miffed at Fleur and Vito's scores.

And Will's "It's OK not to be OK" should have extended to feeling physically unwell too.

Monkseal's comment on Will on DS made me laugh a lot:

  • Amidst a set of fairly blandly likable frontrunners this year, have to respect Will's commitment to drama by turning up looking like crap and in an utterly foul mood, hacking and spluttering everywhere, and on the verge of offering Craig to go out behind the bins to have a respectful talk about his mental health. Can't help feel that the laudable message of his dance, about taking care of yourself and not being afraid to ask for help when you're suffering, was undermined slightly by him Typhoid Maurice'ing around the studio and almost setting off a new international pandemic all on his own. I don't think the dance was as bad as it got pegged, but male rumbas rarely are. Gotta keep that bad reputation up I guess, really scare guys off expressing themselves.

Dianne always looks miffed in the Clauditorium at other high scores. It's one of the things alongside her awful strop about Dev's elimination that has made me conclude she is not one of the Nicest pros, just fake nicey and actually a bit scary like Amy.

They sound like a bunch of petty children. It's a shame that the original spoiler team who kept it professional have gone.

Thorp seems to have made this his career though. I remember way back about 5 years ago on a spoiler thread when they were without a mole and I suggested that they should use Thorp's spoiler. To which Thorp responded that he gets it from the DS thread. Says it all.

Yes, I’m climbing back on my soapbox again this week, but this really pisses me off. Dave’s an opportunist who has never shied away from passing other people’s efforts off as his own, and he benefitted from the work of Monaogg et al for years. He’s an absolute shyster.

Ugh, Dave Thorp. Sorry but he's no more an authority than anybody else with a mate in the audience.
For years he “stole” the spoiler from DS thread .. as soon as it was posted there he “revealed” it on twitter😂 and now he is the Oracle of spoilers… oh glad of Tattle instead if DS for strictly chat.. I have no spinny chair or weird gin to share… I do have shingles if anyone fancies some 😂😂😂🤒🤒

I think Johannes is well suited to ringers who can keep up with him (like John and a few of his partners in South Africa who were also finalists) and probably to duffers who want a bit of fun. I don't think he's the best teacher for someone more in the mid ground as most of his Strictly partners have been. Then again, I think CQ was beyond help, she was in her own world.

Is Monaogg still about?

It's been really obvious the last two weeks anyway because the celeb eliminated has been the only one who hasn't posted anything that night

Typhoid Maurice! 😂 Monkseal has SUCH a way with words. I do miss his sometimes scathing, sometimes insightful, always hilarious recaps (though I love Ariadnes' replacement reviews too)
