I don't doubt they get on well but on the dancefloor it's a bit boring. I think her energy surpasses his in a way. Whereas Johannes is known for failing to take it down a notch so I think it would have won the general audience over a bit more

Yes, she's good. I think the expectation on her to be a ringer is unfair. How many years now and people still don't see the difference in doing a bit of rhythmic flailing on stage isn't the same as learning how to Samba!

Exactly. People expect her to come out every week and dance like she is performing Saxx! This is totally different plus she is partnered with a new pro so isn’t benefitting from people voting for the pro as well as the celebrity

I really don't get this from her. But this happens with young women who don't do the whole 'I'm so humble' thing all the time. She seems like she's up for a laugh and likes testing herself.
I guess the EE fanbase is real - or just that he is a familiar face to millions of people. What is more shocking to me is that Gio's fanbase didn't turn out.
I wonder if Gio is quite glad to be out. He's worked non-stop all year, he won last year, and now he gets to do whatever and then turn up on a Saturday night and look menacing in the back of a Jason Gilikson Afro-Cuban salsa pro special.

I have a theory that a lot of the staunch Gio fans were Rose and Gio fans who became SO obsessed with that being the only ever Gio pairing that just they didn't vote this time around. There's nothing that special about Gio and Richie in a sea of other pairings and I think they just got lost. Plus Vito is way hotter this year, sorry Gio but your crown got stolen 😌

or with my tinfoil hat on, I wouldn't be shocked if some of them don't want him to do as well as last year so the sacredness of that pairing won't be ruined. I just looked at the FB group and the top post is not about the dance tonight but speculation as to whether Rose was in the audience as Gio was apparently smiling at someone!
 
I do think fleur possibly suffered from a lack votes this week. Her dance was a bit dull and forgettable amongst a bunch of memorable fun performances like Tyler and Tony. She was middling on the leaderboard which actually a bit more dangerous than top or bottom. I think a LOT of people voted for Tony this week because although it wasn’t necessarily technically great it was more entertaining. I feel like I’ve seen that American smooth a bunch of times especially after the slow dance she had last week. I would’ve preferred something fun and upbeat for her during movie week where she could’ve stood out. But I do think she’s finding it harder than she maybe expected. Some people with dance take to new styles relatively easily and some struggle. Maybe she’d have done better with Aljaz. Hopefully she’ll bounce back next week 🤞🏻

I predict a Christmas Special with AJ and Kai doing their showdance (AJ having ripped the dress off that hussy Nadiya, while Gio and Rose recreate theirs but finish with Gio producing an engagement ring in the Clauditorium.
 
With Kai & Gio out, I wonder if either/both will appear in the Christmas Special. They weirdly didn't really use the more recognisable pros at Christmas last year (except for Aljaž but think Moira Stuart was too old for someone like Cameron). No Gorka, Katya, Karen or Oti despite all being available.

I imagine both will probably be used along with Neil as the 3 male pros for the Xmas special. I think it depends on when you get voted out as to whether or not they use you. Which female pros are used will be more interesting as there's already 3 sitting out.
 
Haven't read in case I inadvertently reveal a spoiler so sorry if I parrot anyone's views. Heavily biased towards Tony Adams but I thought the 2 from Craig was unfair, unnecessary and actually, a little unpleasant. Hopefully my fellow Gooners keep him in. Great to see David Seaman supporting him in the audience. Enjoyed the visual effects for the mermaid dance and the 'Shoop Shoop' rendition. Some of the scores were a little all over the place. Seeing the gorgeous Luba smiling but alone made me feel so sad that yet again she doesn't have a partner.

How fit must Tyler be? A marathon followed by this. Massive respect for him as his fitness and stamina levels (plus guts and professionalism) must be off the scale. Mind you, Jayde had just finished her ladies' wrestling match so fair play to her too.

When they showed the recap of the dances at the end of tonight's show, I had completely forgot that Kim Marsh was even in the competition. Her dance was so forgettable.
 
I was out last night, and it looks like our Sky box has deleted the recording of Strictly before I’ve watched it, so is it worth sitting through the 2 hours of it on iplayer, or just forget it?
