Haven't posted in a while but all this Kai / AJ / Nadiya talk is getting tiresome - seems as if you guys are more obsessed with them then the so-called ds shippers you talk about all the time... Anyway, back to this current series - after loving Hamza, Will and Ellie T in week one, was very disappointed by all three in week two and my new faves are Tyler, Ellie S and Molly... Proving how fickle I am as I base my choices merely on who performs best on the night!
 
I was thinking about this last night and I think some of the pairings aren't right.

James is too tall for Amy. He'd still be a bit crap, but he really should have got Luba.

Nadiya and Matt isn't a great partnership. I think it's because she's very patient and kind, so maybe she was the best pro for him but they're not good to watch.

Tyler would have been better with one of the new pros - I'm thinking Lauren and Tyler could have been very dynamic.
 
Some of the partnering does seem a bit wonky, yeah. Not sure what's happening with Matt and poor Nadiya especially.

I thought Lauren was very good dancing, even if it was to Robbie. Fingers crossed she gets a partner next year, and yes I would have liked to have seen what she could have done with Tyler or even James (neither Dianne nor Amy seem particularly inspired this year, which is a shame for their partners)

On the plus side, Ellie T/Johannes, Ellie S/Nikita and Hamza/Jowita all seem delightful together so far, which is nice!

Agree fully with the partnership suggestions - James / Luba would have bin great and Tyler / Lauren could have bin 🔥... I also think Jayde / Karen is an odd match, maybe Jayde / Nadiya could have been interesting & Karen / Matt (although I wouldn't wish any of the pros the suffering of having Matt - he's certainly not as good as he thinks he is)

Nope, it’s definitely the fun of taking the piss out of the deranged shippers that holds my interest.

I do apologise for the fact that you find it tiresome, though. Maybe just scroll past the bits that bore you. I do that when aspects of the discussion are of limited interest to me. I don’t find that there’s much to be gained by telling people that they’re talking about something that doesn’t interest me 🙂

Thanks for "explaining" how to read the thread - I don't think there's much to be gained from talking about deranged people on other websites and "taking the piss" as you say - would much rather focus on the current Strictly couples who provide enough ammunition to be getting on with, who's got time to look at other websites when this is the only one that matters...

He seems to be totally detached or something. He doesn't seem like he is enjoying it at all.

And I hope I never see those godawful trousers again. 🤢
Walking down the steps at the beginning of the dance looked like it was painful to him.
 
I feel sorry for Richie. Same sex partnerships are still relatively new on the show so it feels like he's being judged far more harshly- e.g, I've seen a lot of comments saying that Giovanni is wasted on him and he should have been given a better partner for his first same sex pairing. It's not fair tbh, it's like Richie is under pressure to do well in order to prove that same sex pairings can work, especially when the only other male/male pairing has been John and Johannes who did so well, and then on top of that he's with Giovanni who won last year, cue all the people saying they miss Giovanni being with Rose. Lots of people on this thread calling him annoying, I didn't see that at all this weekend, I just saw genuine enthusiasm and lots of energy and effort, I find myself warming to him a lot tbh (but I've never heard him on the radio so dont know if he comes across differently there)

I find Hamza calming. He seems to just suck the stress out of any situation. Personally, I find that very refreshing and a positive quality, but I can see how some might interpret it negatively as blandness.

It’s ok to admit to liking anyone. I don’t think many people have a visceral dislike of AJ & Kai’s partnership, and the final would certainly have been better if they’d been able to participate.
 

I liked Matt's dance and thought he looked lovely when he smiled in those rare moments of enjoying it 🙈. Want him to stay in so his hair gets a transformation.

Am I the only one dreading the group dances, knowing it's Johannes chance to camp it up and over perform.

Thought Carlos totally forgot he was dancing with Molly, calm it down love.

Tony Adam - fwoarggh! But I'm already dreading the pelvic thrusts that come with that crap song.

Think Kai and Nadiya were unprofessional with their smooching (yes I know only the Eagle eyed would have noticed but...)

And I want Claudia's hair, I get real envy
