Only just had time to read and respond, but enjoyed the comments. Glad Tony is still in and hope my fellow Gooners keep him there for a while. Usual poor music, capped with an expected poor version of a Robbie Williams song (in a much lower key) by Robbie Williams. Not sure who the nasally singer is, but the one who did 'Runaway' by The Corrs was as flat as a fart at times.
Wish they'd stop the stupid theme that the shows are on two different nights. Motsi looked nice but wow, was she shouting last night! Loved Ellie Simmonds' dance. What an inspiring human being.
As usual, it feels like a proper night of TV is around for the next few months, like a virtual Saturdays only Advent calendar.

I hope for Dianne's sake that she & Tyler make it past Week 4. Beyond that though, I'm not fussed if that was the last we saw of her on the show.

Would they be risking backlash if either were axed/benched? A few people were annoyed about Gorka's 2019 benching.

Possibly….but I’m not sure why they have a pool of what, 21/22 pros if they keep giving the same ones - without a success rate - partners.

According to Wiki, this is Dianne’s 6th year and she’s only made it to one final. That was series 16 and since Joe ages finished 13th, 9th and 13th - so she’s not really capitalised on Joe’s popularity.

Amy, also her sixth year and also only one final. Slightly better placing a than Dianne but not setting the Heather alight imo.

Unpopular opinion klaxon - I would have benched Karen too tbh.

The male pros have had a shaken up lately but maybe that’s because more males have left over the last few years.

I swear the jive Amy did last week was on its third or fourth outing! They do both seem to choreograph quite twee routines for all their celebs. If Tyler does end up having a decent run, I wonder if Dianne will be capable of mixing it up a bit, because he doesn't really fit that mould

On the subject of Tyler, Shirley seemed to be staking her reputation on him being 'the one' in her comments on the results show - which probably means he'll be getting high scores from her whatever happens
 
I fast forwarded the start of the results show, so i didn't see the opening dance.

I took one look at Robbie Williams and went into the kitchen to make a drink and a snack so i could avoid him. His voice is toast and he is morphing into Morrissey.

Matt Goss - is he on meds for chronic pain or something? He seems spaced out.
Or has he had his face stretched so far back it's making him squint and talk funny?
Or is he just weird?

The nasally singer is called Hayley Sanderson. Apparently she's a great sax player.
I wish she'd stick to that because her vocal tone is grating, raucous and shrill.
The other lady singer is Andrea Grant ( I think ??) and sometimes she is ok, but sometimes...... oh dear, oh dear.

I'm tellin' ya, since they replaced Lance Ellington ( the one who sang Gangnam style) with that new guy who sings the falsetto and rock stuff, the singers have lost it.

I think there was some jealousy regarding him so they eased him out. Just my opinion of course.
When he nailed Gangnam style, he got a LOT of attention and in an interview, the other male singer, Tommy, claimed he was the one who sang it.
He didnt. It's clearly Lance on the clips.
So i think he was jealous.

Tommy kind of leads the singers.
He was there first and he even brought in his mate Dave Arch as musical director. Theyre a bit cliquey, it seems.
A jobs for their mates kind of thing.

After that week, Lance appeared less and less until he was totally phased out and the younger guy took his place full time.

Big mistake because the singers have sounded shite since they got rid of Lance.
 
Few of observations from the results show:

Kim seems really kind. A bit maternal. I noticed her trying to rally the other couples to cheer on Matt. I'd say she picks up on people's anxiety and tries to push them on. Noticed her trying to catch Ellie ts eye too near the end. I also noticed her in the background looking a bit blank. Not sure she's having much fun.

I have a feeling that even though matt is... odd... he seems very kind.

Will is a puzzle. He looked like he was going to freak out during the "red lights". He has a reputation for being a fun joker but he might actually be the one to explode!

I'd love a mole from back stage to reveal some stuff here this year. It's such a strange mix of personalities this year and I'm not sure people will be as pally as previous years.

Fernando Alonso & Ted Danson famously have this- as did the perennially creepy Jeremy Beadle.

According to Wikipedia Matt Goss indeed does- he has a missing pectoral muscle on the right side. I wonder if this will affect him in the lifts? (Massive assumption that he’ll actually make it long enough to *do* any lifts)

I don’t know how they do it with their schedule

One or more will be deployed each interview.
 
The format of the show is getting tired. It’s almost the same script annually. The interesting thing on Saturday was the VT’s on explaining what’s expected from the dance and the steps. We much preferred this to hearing about a celebrity’s next door neighbours dead hamster.

'Friends for life' is often deployed also, although usually by the departing celebrity.😀

Kaye seemed happy to go. I think she gave it a lot more than Matt seems to be giving, overall.
He seems to be just literally going through the motions.

Well, yes.

When they were eliminated, he should have pushed Kaye to the ground and told her she deserved to be out first for the heinous crime of not being AJ. Then he should have added that she smells of bins.

It would have been the only sane reaction.
