Martina Hingis was like a crash test dummy. I'd like to see - Alan Carr, Richard Madeley, Jay Rayner, Sara Cox and Richard Hammon (to laugh at)

I'm hoping the next 5 names are a bit more exciting, I'm not part of the "who?" brigade (some of them are irritants of the highest order) and do recognise most of the names but there isn't much yet that properly excites me. I hope I don't sound like a complainer but I'm not quite feeling it yet beyond Sara & AJ though Robert, Tom and Greg are admittedly good gets. I kinda liked the mix last year.

I'd like a couple of athletes, perhaps a ringer and of course, a token duffer who is just there for a few weeks of fun rather than to seriously compete (maybe a Richard Madeley or a Chris Kamara type) if they're a well known name, even better.

I’d say he’s definitely one of the biggest.

Though ‘biggest’ is kind of relative: if you don’t watch tennis you’d not know how much of a ‘big name’ Martina Hingis is in the tennis world.

For me, I’d have Jerry Hall and Lulu up there as two of the biggest.
 
Problem is celebrity is subjective. All depends on what you like and your age. Greg wise is both a big name and an unknown all at the same time. He has an impressive career, but he is also one of those actors that is in a lot of things but no one really knows. His biggest roles were also a long time ago and hasn't been in as much mainstream stuff. The crown is probably the biggest of late and that was very much supporting.

So far I'm the only one who knows who he is In my family and friends.

Absolutely, that’s why I asked who other people thought the biggest signings were. I have only seen a couple of things Greg’s been in but I know he’s a successful film and TV actor and he’s married to Emma Thompson - it’s not Anthony Hopkins but IMO he is a big signing

Who is everyone’s favourite winner? Mine has to be Caroline Flack. Obvs because she was with Pasha but even though she’d had some experience (stage school I think?), you could see her getting better over the weeks. Their Charleston is my favourite ever Strictly dance

Honestly, I didn’t know who he was by name. When I saw a picture I recognised him from The Crown. For me the biggest names they’ve announced this year are Dan Walker (as I feel most people know who he is), and Robert Webb. I spent most of my uni years watching and re-watching peep show.

I’ve never understood the whole “they aren’t even famous” thing. I don’t know the CBBC people, but that’s because I don’t have children not because they aren’t famous 🤷🏻‍♀️ The whole point is to attract a wide range of people as it’s a family entertainment show. It would be a bit boring if it was just people who appealed to one demographic.
